Ennik Somi Douma, known professionally by her Korean name Jeon Somi (Korean: 전소미), is a South Korean and Canadian singer signed under The Black Label. She quickly achieved domestic fame as the first-place winner of the survival reality show Produce 101 and a member of the show's eleven-piece project girl group I.O.I. Following the conclusion of I.O.I's group activities, Jeon signed with YG Entertainment's subsidiary, The Black Label. I.O.I was a South Korean girl group formed by CJ E&M through the 2016 reality show Produce 101 on Mnet. The group was composed of eleven members chosen from a pool of 101 trainees from various entertainment companies: Jeon So-mi, Kim Se-jeong, Choi Yoo-jung, Kim Chung-ha, Kim So-hye, Zhou Jieqiong, Jung Chae-yeon, Kim Do-yeon, Kang Mi-na, Lim Na-young, and Yoo Yeon-jung. They debuted on May 4, 2016, with the EP Chrysalis and actively promoted as a whole and as a sub-unit for less than a year.

Kim Do-yeon, known mononymously as Doyeon, is a South Korean singer and actress signed under Fantagio. She is best known as a contestant on the Mnet reality show Produce 101, as a member of the resulting group I.O.I, and subsequently as a member of Weki Meki. In 2018, she appeared on Law of the Jungle and made her acting debut in the drama Short (2018).

<i>Pink Ocean</i> 2016 EP by Oh My Girl

Pink Ocean is the third extended play (EP) by South Korean girl group Oh My Girl. It was released by WM Entertainment on March 28, 2016 and distributed by LOEN Entertainment. The album contains five songs, including the singles "Step by Step" and "Liar Liar". Oh My Girl promoted the album with a series of televised live performances on South Korea's music shows.

"Dream Girls" is the official debut single by South Korean girl group project I.O.I for their first EP Chrysalis (2016). It was released as the title track from the EP by YMC Entertainment and distributed by LOEN Entertainment on May 4, 2016, in conjunction with the mini-album. The lyrics were written by Famous Bro and I.O.I's members Lim Nayoung and Choi Yoojung and the music was composed by Famous Bro and Paul. To promote the song and the mini-album, I.O.I performed "Dream Girls" on several South Korean music programs, including M Countdown, The Show and Music Bank. A music video for the song was also released on May 4.

<i>Happy Ending</i> (EP) 2016 EP by DIA

Happy Ending is the debut extended play by South Korean girl group DIA. It was released by MBK Entertainment on June 14, 2016, and distributed by Interpark. It consists of seven tracks, including "On The Road", released as the EP's title track.

Gugudan (Korean: 구구단), also stylized as gu9udan or gx9, was a South Korean girl group formed in 2016 by Jellyfish Entertainment and the company's first girl group. The group debuted on June 28, 2016, with their EP Act. 1 The Little Mermaid. The group was composed of eight members: Mimi, Hana, Haebin, Nayoung, Sejeong, Sally, Soyee, Mina, and previously Hyeyeon until her departure from the group in October 2018.

"Whatta Man" (also known as "Whatta Man (Good Man)") is a song recorded by South Korean girl group project I.O.I. The song samples the 1968 song "What a Man" by Linda Lyndell. The song was released as a single album by the first sub-unit of the group, with members Nayoung, Chungha, Kyulkyung, Sohye, Yoojung, Doyeon and Somi. It was released as a digital download by YMC Entertainment and distributed by LOEN Entertainment on August 9, 2016 and as a physical single on August 11. The lyrics were written by Nikki Flores, Phillip Bentley, and Seo Jeonga and the music was composed by Emile Ghantous, Steve Daly, Keith Hetrick, Ryan S. Jhun, Michel Schulz, and Fritz Michallik, with additional background vocals from Nikki Flores and Melanie Fontana. Choreography for the song was created by member Chungha. To promote the single album, I.O.I's unit performed the song on several South Korean music programs, including M Countdown and Music Bank. I.B.I was a South Korean girl group consisting of five members who previously participated in Mnet's 2016 survival show Produce 101. The group formed and debuted under LOEN Entertainment in 2016 with the single "Molae Molae (몰래몰래)".

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Pristin</span> South Korean girl group

Pristin was a South Korean girl group formed by Pledis Entertainment in 2016. The group was composed of ten members: Nayoung, Roa, Yuha, Eunwoo, Rena, Kyulkyung, Yehana, Sungyeon, Xiyeon, and Kyla. Most of them appeared on the television show Produce 101 and, as the prize for becoming two of the top contestants, Nayoung and Kyulkyung went on to debut as part of the project girl group I.O.I, before reuniting with the other members to debut as Pristin on March 21, 2017, with the first EP Hi! Pristin. Pristin was known for writing and composing their own music. After nearly a year and a half with little activity, the group disbanded on May 24, 2019 when only 3 of the 10 members renewed their contract with Pledis Entertainment.

<i>Miss Me?</i> Extended play by South Korean girl group I.O.I

Miss Me? is the second and final extended play (EP) by South Korean girl group I.O.I, a project group created through the 2016 Mnet survival show, Produce 101, composed of eleven trainees from different entertainment companies that promoted until January 2017 under YMC Entertainment. It contains five tracks, including the lead single, "Very Very Very" produced by Park Jin-young.

"Very Very Very" is a song recorded by South Korean girl group project I.O.I for their second mini-album Miss Me? (2016). It was released as the title track from the mini-album by YMC Entertainment and distributed by LOEN Entertainment on October 17, 2016. The lyrics were written by Park Jin-young, who also composed the music. In order to promote the song and mini-album, the group performed on several South Korean music programs, including M Countdown and Music Bank. A music video for the title track was also released on October 17.

Kim Chung-ha, known mononymously as Chungha, is a South Korean pop singer, dancer and choreographer. She finished fourth in Mnet's girl group survival show Produce 101, becoming a member of the resulting girl group I.O.I. Following the dissolution of I.O.I in 2017, Chungha debuted as a solo artist with the extended play Hands on Me.

<i>Hi! Pristin</i> 2017 EP by Pristin

Hi! Pristin is the debut extended play by South Korean girl group Pristin. It was released on March 21, 2017, by Pledis Entertainment, and distributed by LOEN Entertainment. The EP consists of six songs, including the singles "Wee Woo" and "Black Widow". In order to promote the album, the group performed on several Korean music shows.

<i>Hands on Me</i> (EP) 2017 extended play by Chungha

Hands on Me is the debut extended play by South Korean singer Chungha. It was released on June 7, 2017 by MNH Entertainment and distributed by CJ E&M Music. It consists of five songs, including the title track "Why Don't You Know" featuring rapper Nucksal. A music video for the title track was also released on June 7.

Weki Meki was a South Korean girl group formed by Fantagio in 2017. The group consisted of eight members: Suyeon, Elly, Yoojung, Doyeon, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy. During the group's career, they released five EPs, two single albums and one re-issue single album. The group finished their seven year career with the release of their final single "CoinciDestiny" on June 12, 2024. On August 16, 2024, it was announced the group had officially disbanded.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Choi Yoo-jung (singer)</span> South Korean singer and actress (born 1999)

Choi Yoo-jung, known mononymously as Yoojung, is a South Korean singer and actress signed under Fantagio. She debuted as member of I.O.I in May 2016 after achieving third place in the 2016 survival program Produce 101. In January 2017, I.O.I officially disbanded after eleven months of promotion. Following disbandment, she returned to her respective agency and eventually debuted with Weki Meki in August 2017. Choi debuted as a solo artist with the single album Sunflower in September 2022.

"Downpour" (Korean: 소나기) is a song recorded by South Korean girl group project I.O.I released just for fans by YMC Entertainment and distributed by Stone Music Entertainment on January 17, 2017. The single is the act's final project together after rising to fame in 2016 and becoming one of Korea's most popular acts of the year.
