6 Way St. (originally named Level 3:16) is an American Christian R&B and Christian hip hop group signed to the Cross Movement Records. They are based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. The group consists of two male M.C.'s, three female vocalists and one female DJ. [1]

Background

The Christian hip hop and Christian R&B group, 6 Way St. started out as 'Level 3:16'. The two male M.C's are Steve "STV G" Gaskin and Chris Tabron. The three female vocalists are Kristin "K Mase" Mason, Candace Jones, and Crystal Whitaker. The female DJ is Kristen "K.B." Betts. [3] [4] They are based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. [3]

History

In 2009, the six members met while on a summer trip near Indianapolis, IN. The group was part of The Impact Movement at Keynote. This was a program dedicated to training Christian musicians to establish programs, schedule tours and create outreach seminars across the United States. [5]

Debut Album (2010)

The band launched their debut album, Level 3:16, on December 28, 2010 under the name 'Level 3:16'. The album charted on two Billboard charts. Rapzilla reviewed the album giving it a three and a half out of five rating, [6] and Cross Rhythms rated the album a ten out of ten. [7]

The group subsequently changed their name to 6 Way St.

Gravity is the sixth studio album by American Christian hip hop artist Lecrae, released on September 4, 2012. The album features appearances from Big K.R.I.T., Mathai, Ashthon Jones, Sho Baraka and Mali Music, along with labelmates Trip Lee, Andy Mineo, Derek Minor, who was formerly known as PRo, and Tedashii. Producers on the album include DJ Khalil, Street Symphony's Heat Academy, and The Watchmen. Derek Johnson, Jr., better known by his stage name Derek Minor and former stage name PRo, is an American Christian hip hop artist, singer, record producer, entrepreneur, actor, and screenwriter. Beautiful Eulogy is a Christian experimental hip hop group and production team from Portland, Oregon, signed to the label Humble Beast. Composed of rappers Braille and Odd Thomas and producer Courtland Urbano, the group coalesced in 2011 while the three artists were involved in the creation of Braille's seventh release, Native Lungs. Known for its experimental and eclectic sound, the group melds myriad styles of hip hop with genres such as folk, electronic, hymn tunes, and modern worship music. After contributing a song to the charity compilation King Kulture and making a guest appearance on Lecrae's Church Clothes, the band released its debut album, Satellite Kite, on June 19, 2012. Back to Dust is a studio album by Albany, New York-based rapper Sev Statik and Atlanta-based producer DJ Dust, originally released on October 9, 2007, through Rawkus Records. It was the fourth studio release by Sev Statik and the second studio release for DJ Dust. Back to Dust features numerous guest appearances, including Manchild and Playdough of Deepspace5, Theory Hazit, Supastition, LMNO of The Visionaries, and Raphi, Griffin, and Triune of Tunnel Rats. The album was selected by Rawkus for inclusion in its "Rawkus 50" promotional campaign, and was released as a digital download. A physical version of the album was released on July 7, 2008, through Braille's Hip Hop IS Music label. Back to Dust met with critical acclaim. In 2010, Theory Hazit released a remixed version of the album.

Mutiat Yewande Isola, professionally known as Wande, is a Nigerian American Christian hip hop artist, actress and former journalist and A&R administrator from Austin, Texas, United States. She signed to the Christian hip hop label Reach Records in 2019, where she had worked as an A&R administrator. Prior to that, as an independent artist, from 2013 through 2018 she released multiple singles and made numerous featured appearances on various songs, as well as worked as a music journalist. She is the first woman signed to Reach. Her debut extended play (EP), Exit, was released on April 24, 2020, followed by a mini-EP The Decision on December 4, 2020.
