The Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation ; also known as Radio Pakistan, serves as the national public broadcaster for radio in Pakistan. Although some local stations predate its founding, it is the oldest existing broadcasting network in Pakistan. Originally the network was established on 14 August 1947, following Pakistan's independence from Britain but on 20 December 1972 it was changed to a statutory body governed by the board of directors and a Director General. Pakistani popular music or shortly Pak-pop music refers to popular music forms in Pakistan. Pakistani pop is a mixture of traditional Pakistani classical music and western influences of jazz, rock and roll, hip hop and disco sung in various languages of Pakistan, including Urdu. The popularity of music is based on the individual sales of a single, viewership of its music video or the singer's album chart positions. Apart from within Pakistan, Pakistani pop music has also achieved an influential following and popularity in neighboring countries and is listened by members of the Pakistani diaspora, especially in the Middle East, Europe and North America.

Mass media in Pakistan provides information on television, radio, cinema, newspapers, and magazines in Pakistan. Pakistan has a vibrant media landscape; among the most dynamic in South Asia and world. Majority of media in Pakistan is privately owned. Pakistan has around 300 privately owned daily newspapers. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, they had a combined daily sale of 6.1 million copies in 2009. Television is the main source of news and information for people in Pakistan's towns, cities and large areas of the countryside. Marketing research company Gallup Pakistan, estimated there were 86 million TV viewers in Pakistan in 2009.

In 2013, Aag TV shut down in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and was replaced by Geo Tez.

Oxygene was a Pakistani musical, lifestyle and entertainment tv channel owned by Classic Entertainment Ltd Its headquarter is in Karachi. It launched on 24 January 2009 as a premier music and lifestyle channel. The channel relaunched on March 4, 2013, with the slogan "Let's Breathe Young and the logo was re-updated.
