A. Govindamoorthy is an Indian film director and actor who has worked on Tamil films. After making his debut with Karuppusamy Kuththagaithaarar (2007), he has gone on to make Vedigundu Murugesan (2009) and Pappali (2014).
Govindamoorthy dropped out of engineering college after being unable to finance his studies during his third semester and then began reading Vairamuthu's "Sirpi, Unnai Sethukugiraen", which inspired him to become a film maker. [1] After assisting Ezhil and Chimbu Deven, Govindamoorthy then began his film career by directing Karuppusamy Kuththagaithaarar (2007) starring Karan and Meenakshi, and then went on to make Vedigundu Murugesan (2009) with Pasupathy. [2]
In 2013, Govindamurthy approached producer Ambeth Kumar with a script of Pappali (2014), who readily agreed to produce the venture after listening to his narration. He revealed that the team signed on Senthil Kumar and Ishara Nair to work on the film, as the team could not afford bigger stars and could not afford to wait for their dates. [3] [4] The film was released on 2014 went unnoticed and received poor reviews with a critic from Sify.com noting that the film "is a crude and crass comedy laced with sentiments", adding the "film lacks technical finesse and is difficult to sit through". [5]
He debuted as an actor with Pichaikaaran (2016) and went on to act in many films. [6]

Chandramukhi is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language psychological horror comedy film written and directed by P. Vasu. It is a remake of Vasu's Kannada film Apthamitra (2004) which itself was remake of Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu (1993). The film stars Rajinikanth, Prabhu and Jyothika along with an ensemble supporting cast, including Vadivelu, Nayanthara, Nassar and Sheela. It revolves around a woman who suffers from dissociative identity disorder that affects a family, and a psychiatrist who intends to solve the case while risking his life.

Neram (transl. 'Time') is a 2013 Indian black comedy thriller film written, directed and edited by Alphonse Puthren in his directorial debut. It is simultaneously made in Malayalam and Tamil languages. It is an extended version of the short film of the same name, which he directed in 2009. It stars Nivin Pauly, Nazriya Nazim and Bobby Simha in both versions. Supporting roles were played by Manoj K. Jayan, Shammi Thilakan, Lalu Alex, and Willson Joseph in Malayalam version, while Nassar, Thambi Ramiah, John Vijay and Shabareesh Varma portrayed the characters in Tamil version.
