AAA Invades WrestleCon [1] was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by the Mexican promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). The event was held on March 31, 2022, and took place at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas, Texas as part of the WrestleCon convention. [2] [3]
In the main event, Psycho Clown defeated Taurus. After the match, Psycho Clown was attacked by the returning Jeff Jarrett, who revealed that he was the leader of La Empresa. In other prominent matches, Laredo Kid defeated Bandido and Flamita in a three-way match to retain the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship, La Rebelión (Bestia 666 and Mecha Wolf 450) defeated Aero Star and Drago to retain the National Wrestling Alliance World Tag Team Championship, and Taya, Niño Hamburguesa, and Micro Man defeated Los Mercenarios (Rey Escorpión and La Hiedra) and Mini Abismo Negro in a Lumberjacks with Straps trios match.
AAA Invades WrestleCon featured seven professional wrestling matches, with different wrestlers involved in pre-existing scripted feuds, plots and storylines. Wrestlers portrayed either heels (referred to as rudos in Mexico, those that portray the "bad guys") or faces (técnicos in Mexico, the "good guy" characters) as they engaged in a series of tension-building events, which culminated in a wrestling match. Juan Manuel González Barrón is a Mexican luchador who is best known under the ring name Dr. Wagner Jr., having used that name since 1987. He is the son of Manuel González Rivera, better known as Dr. Wagner and the brother of the late César Cuauhtémoc González Barrón, who worked primarily under the name Silver King. His son made his lucha libre debut 2009 under the ring name El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. González was once married to professional wrestler María Moreno León, better known as Rossy Moreno.
Los Psycho Circus is a Lucha libre, or professional wrestling, trio who worked for the Mexico City based Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA) as a rudo team. The trio consists of three enmascarado, or masked, wrestlers known under the ring names Psycho Clown, Monster Clown and Murder Clown. They are former two-time AAA World Trios Champions and were also the last holders of the Mexican National Atómicos Championship with Chessman. Los Psycho Circus is most known for an exaggerated undefeated streak since their debut in 2007, they are announced as having won over 600 matches. The streak came to an end in December 2010.
Murder Clown is the ring name of a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler currently signed to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). Murder Clown's ring character is that of a nightmarish clown and he is part of Los Psycho Circus along with Monster Clown and Psycho Clown. Murder Clown's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans.

Verano de Escándalo (2011) was a major professional wrestling event produced by the AAA promotion, which took place on July 31, 2011, at the Plaza Nuevo Progreso in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The title of the event, which has been AAA's annual summer show since 1997, is Spanish for "Summer of Scandal". The event featured seven matches with the main event featuring Los Perros del Mal and Los Psycho Circus facing each other in a Hair vs. Mask Lucha de Apuestas steel cage match, continuing the storyline rivalry, which started in October 2010. The event also featured Jeff Jarrett defending the AAA Mega Championship against Dr. Wagner Jr. and L.A. Park. The event took place only six weeks and four television tapings after Triplemanía XIX, an abnormally short amount of time between two major AAA events; for example there would be ten weeks between Verano de Escándalo and the following major event, Héroes Inmortales. Subsequently, AAA made the decision not to make the event a pay-per-view.
Héroes Inmortales (2011) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the AAA promotion, which took place on October 9, 2011, at Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, commemorating the fifth anniversary of the death of AAA founder Antonio Peña. While the two previous Peña memorial shows were labeled with the Roman numerals III and IV, the 2011 event was simply known as Héroes Inmortales. The main attraction of the event was the Mexican debut of Sting, who took part in the ongoing storyline invasion of wrestlers from American promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). TNA performers Abyss, Jeff Jarrett, Magnus and Velvet Sky also took part in the event. Other matches taking place at the event included the fifth annual Copa Antonio Peña, Dr. Wagner Jr. defending the AAA Latin American Championship against El Hijo del Perro Aguayo and the culmination of the yearlong rivalry between Los Perros del Mal and Los Psycho Circus in a Lucha de Apuestas Masks vs. Hairs match, at the end of which one team would be either forced to unmask or have their heads shaved.
Triplemanía XXII was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) produced by the AAA promotion. It took place on August 17, 2014, at Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico. The event was the twenty-second annual Triplemanía, which is AAA's biggest show of the year, airing in Mexico as a regular PPV and internationally as an internet pay-per-view (iPPV). This was the first AAA PPV event to be broadcast simultaneously in English through SAP, having Hugo Savinovich and Vampiro as announcers.
La Fortaleza was a major professional wrestling produced and scripted held by the Mexican Lucha libre promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) on March 4, 2015. La Fortaleza refers to the main event ten-man steel cage match where the last man remaining in the cage would be forced to remove their wrestling mask or have their hair shaved off per Lucha de Apuestas, or "bet match", rules. La Fortaleza featured a team representing IWRG and a team representing the rival AAA promotion, furthering a scripted rivalry between the two companies.
Guerra de Titanes was a major professional wrestling event scripted and produced by Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA), a Mexican promotion. The event was the twentieth annual Guerra de Titanes show which, until 2015, has traditionally been AAA's "end of the year" show. In 2016 the show was shifted from December to January instead. The show was held in Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera in Mexico City, Mexico which also hosted the 2016 Guerra de Titanes show.
Verano de Escándalo (2017) is major professional wrestling event produced by the Mexican Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) promotion, which took place on June 4, 2017 in "Gimnasio Josué Neri Santos " in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. The Verano de Escándalo event has been a regular summer event for AAA since 1997, only skipping the event in 2012, 2013 and 2016. 2017 marked the 18th time AAA has used that name for an event.

Bandido is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, who is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He is widely known for his work in Ring of Honor, where he is a former one-time ROH World Champion as well as his work in a range of promotions, such as promotions Lucha Libre Elite (LLE), The Crash Lucha Libre and Dragon Gate (DG).
Los Mercenarios was a villainous professional wrestling stable performing in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), consisting of Rey Escorpión, Taurus, Villano III Jr., and La Hiedra. It originally also included La Máscara and El Hijo del Fantasma who have since left AAA. Los Mercenarios founder La Máscara stated out that it would be a stable similar to CMLL's Los Ingobernables, a group he was a member of for years prior to working for AAA.

The World is a Vampire: NWA vs. AAA was a professional wrestling supercard co-promoted by the American-based National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) promotion and the Mexican Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) promotion. Held as part of the NWA Pop-Up Event series, the event took place on March 4, 2023 at Foro Sol in Iztacalco, Mexico City, Mexico during The World is a Vampire music festival organized by NWA owner Billy Corgan's band The Smashing Pumpkins. The event marked the first collaborative event held by the NWA and AAA.
