The Asia Cup, officially known as the ACC Men’s Asia Cup is a men's international cricket tournament contested between Asian countries in either One Day International format and Twenty20 International format every 2 years. It was established in 1983 when the Asian Cricket Council was founded as a measure to promote goodwill between Asian countries being the only continental championship in cricket where the winning team becomes the champion of Asia. India are the current champions after winning the 2023 edition.

The Bangladesh women's national cricket team is the team that represents the country of Bangladesh in international women's cricket matches. They made their international debut when they played, and won, two matches against Thailand in July 2007 before participating in and winning the 2007 ACC Women's Tournament. Bangladesh were granted One-Day International (ODI) status in 2011 after finishing fifth in the 2011 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier. They subsequently qualified for the 2014 ICC Women's World Twenty20 as hosts, making their first appearance at a top-level women's international tournament. However, they finished fifth in the next edition of Women's Asia Cup, but has since went on to become one of the most competitive women's cricket teams in Asia. The team made its first World Cup appearance at the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup, and has participated in every edition of the World Twenty20 since making its debut at the 2014 edition.

The ACC Men's Premier Cup is the limited-overs international cricket tournament organized by the Asian Cricket Council and contested in a league system by the associate members of ACC. It crowns the best associate team in Asia and serves as the final qualification pathway towards the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup and the Asia Cup. It evolved from the former ACC Trophy Elite cricket competition, played under three divisions. The inaugural edition of the tournament took place in April and May, 2023 with Nepal as the host. Currently, It's the top tier tournament for associate teams in Asia.

He was inspired to play cricket after Nepal played in the ICC T20 World Cup in Bangladesh. In January 2019, Kumar became the youngest male cricketer to score an international half-century. The record was broken in February 2020, by his team-mate Kushal Malla. He is the all-time highest run scorer of Nepal in the ODI format and the first Nepalese player to score 1,000 runs in ODI cricket. He was named captain of the Nepal cricket team in November 2022.

The 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup was the third edition of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup held in Karachi, Pakistan and Colombo, Sri Lanka. Eight teams participated in the tournament including five under-23 age level teams of Test nations and top three teams from 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier. This tournament was organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Initially, Pakistan was sole host for the tournament but India and BCCI refused to send Indian players to Pakistan. Following the increasing political tensions between India and Pakistan, ACC announced that Sri Lanka would be the co-host whilst India's matches and knockout stage will be played there. The U-23 teams from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals. Sri Lanka's U-23 defeated India U-23 by 3 runs in the final to win the tournament.
The 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup was the fourth edition of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup held in Bangladesh between 14 and 23 November 2019. Eight teams participated in the tournament, including five under-23 age level teams of Test nations and the top three teams from the 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier. The tournament was organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Nepal replaced the United Arab Emirates, after they pulled out due to an unknown reason. Nepal qualified on virtue of being fourth in the Asia Cup qualifier.

The 2023 ACC Women's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup was the inaugural edition of the ACC Women's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup played in Hong Kong in June 2023, with all the matches held at the Mission Road Ground in Kowloon. Eight teams took part in the tournament, including the A teams of four nations with ODI status and the next four top associate teams. The tournament was organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
