A Night in Tuscany is the first DVD released by Italian singer Andrea Bocelli of a concert which took place at the Piazza dei Cavalieri in Pisa in 1997. The concert includes duets with soprano Nuccia Focile, Italian rock star Zucchero, and English soprano Sarah Brightman. [1]

Contents

The concert was also Bocelli's first PBS Special, part of the In the Spotlight series, designed to promote his breakthrough album, Romanza . It also marked his debut to the American audience.

"Con te partirò" is an Italian song written by Francesco Sartori (music) and Lucio Quarantotto (lyrics). It was first performed by Andrea Bocelli at the 1995 Sanremo Music Festival and recorded on his album of the same year, Bocelli. The single was first released as an A-side single with "Vivere" in 1995, topping the charts, first in France, where it became one of the best-selling singles of all-time, and then in Belgium, breaking the all-time record sales there.

Teatro del Silenzio Italian open air amphitheater

The Teatro del Silenzio is an open air amphitheater located in the city of Lajatico – the hometown of Andrea Bocelli - in the Tuscany region of Italy. In 2006, Bocelli convinced the municipality of Lajatico to build this outdoor venue whose structure utilizes the natural formations of the hilly landscape. Bocelli contributed greatly to its construction.

"Canto della Terra" is an Italian song which was the second single from Italian pop tenor Andrea Bocelli's 1999 album, Sogno. The song was written by composer Francesco Sartori and lyricist Lucio Quarantotto, the same writers of Bocelli's biggest hit "Con te partirò", and is among Bocelli's most popular and well-known songs.

"Vivere" is a song written by Italian singer-songwriter Gerardina Trovato with Angelo Anastasio and Celso Valli. It was first recorded as a duet between Trovato and Italian pop tenor Andrea Bocelli and included in Trovato's 1994 album Non è un film as well as on Bocelli's debut album Il Mare Calmo della Sera. It was also released as a B-side single with Bocelli's "Con te partirò" in 1996 and it was later featured on the compilation album Romanza, released by Bocelli in 1997.

The Three Tenors: Paris 1998 is a live album by José Carreras, Plácido Domingo, and Luciano Pavarotti with conductor James Levine. The album was recorded at a Three Tenors concert on 10 July 1998 during celebrations for the FIFA World Cup. The concert took place in front of the Eiffel Tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. The Orchestre de Paris accompanied the singers. The audience at the live concert numbered around 150,000 people. A sound system and large screens were placed along the Champ de Mars for the crowds further back to see and hear the performance. Producer Tibor Rudas claimed prior to the concert that 2 billion viewers were expected to watch the televised performance worldwide.
