Aag Ka Dariya (English: River of Fire) is a 1953 Indian Hindi-language black-and-white film directed by Roop K. Shorey and starring Karan Dewan, Prithviraj Kapoor, Meena Shorey, Shammi, Uma Dutt; Johnny Walker, Manju and Cecil. [1] Playback singer for this movie was Talat Mahmood. Produced by Shorey Films, it had music by music composer Vinod. [2]

Aag ka Dariya is a melodramatic love story, where the lovers separate due to the machinations of a villain. They keep crossing each other's paths, eventually meeting when the final drama plays out.

Music was composed by Vinod, with lyrics by Aziz Kashmiri. One song, "Ek Dil Hazaar Gham", sung by Talat Mehmood, had lyrics written by Hasrat Jaipuri. The playback singers were Asha Bhosle, Mohammed Rafi, Talat Mahmood, Sulochana Kadam, Lakshmi Roy, Khan Mastana. [3]

The film was an adaptation of Shorey's earlier success Ek Thi Ladki (1949), which starred his wife actress Meena Shorey and Motilal. The original owed its "popularity" more to the music of the film, especially the song "Larra Lappa" composed by music director Vinod.

Meena Shorey was a Pakistani film actress who worked first in Indian cinema and later Pakistani cinema. She appeared in Hindi/Urdu and Punjabi films. Credited in films by her mononym, Meena, her real name was Khurshid Jehan. She started her acting career playing a character role, as Ambhi, Raja of Taxila's sister in Sohrab Modi's Sikandar (1941). Married to her third husband, Roop K. Shorey, by the mid-1940s, she found fame when she acted in her husband's film Ek Thi Larki (1949), opposite actor Motilal. The story was written by I. S. Johar, who also starred in the film. The "foot-tapping" music composed by Vinod became a "huge hit", with Meena becoming an "icon" for the "new liberated" young women. Meena was acclaimed as the "Lara Lappa Girl", from the song of same title in the film. She was one of the first women to be recognised in Indian cinema as a "comedienne of calibre". She was also popularly known as The Droll Queen of Partition as she worked as a comedienne [Droll] in both in India and Pakistan [countries resulting from partition].

Miss Coca Cola is a 1955 Indian Hindi-language romantic thriller film directed by Kedar Kapoor. The film was an early example of a brand being used in a film title. Some of the films that made use of the trade name were Shri 420, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, An Evening In Paris and others such as Taal and Yaadein. The film was produced by Danny Films and had music composed by O. P. Nayyar, with lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri. The film was one of the earlier Shammi Kapoor hits for lyricist Sultanpuri, who had earlier given popular lyrics in Andaz (1949).
