Rahul Dev Burman was an Indian music director and actor, who is considered to be one of the greatest and most successful music directors of the Hindi film music industry. From the 1960s to the 1990s, Burman composed musical scores for 331 films, bringing a new level of music ensemble with his compositions. Burman did his major work with legendary singers Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, and Asha Bhosle. He also worked extensively with lyricist Gulzar, with whom he has some of the most memorable numbers in his career. Nicknamed Pancham, he was the only son of the composer Sachin Dev Burman and his Bengali lyricist wife Meera Dev Burman.
Laxmikant–Pyarelal were an Indian composer duo, consisting of Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar (1937–1998) and Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma . They composed music for about 750 Hindi movies from 1963 to 1998, working for almost all notable filmmakers, including Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Shakti Samanta, Manmohan Desai, Yash Chopra, K. Balanchander, Boney Kapoor, J. Om Prakash, Raj Khosla, L. V. Prasad, Subhash Ghai, Mahesh Bhatt, K. Viswanath and Manoj Kumar.
Trishul (transl. Trident) is a 1978 Indian Hindi-language action drama film, directed by Yash Chopra, written by Salim–Javed and produced by Gulshan Rai. It features music by Mohammed Zahur Khayyam, with lyrics by Sahir Ludhianvi. The film features an ensemble cast of Shashi Kapoor, Sanjeev Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Raakhee Gulzar, Poonam Dhillon, and Sachin, with Waheeda Rehman in a special appearance.
Piya Ka Ghar is a 1972 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film directed by Basu Chatterjee, and produced by Rajshri Productions, starring Anil Dhawan and Jaya Bachchan. A remake of Raja Thakur's Marathi film Mumbaicha Jawai, it portrays the difficulties of life in Mumbai during the 1970s in the form of a comic family drama. According to film and music expert Rajesh Subramanian, Amol Palekar was the first choice for the lead role, but an unfortunate misunderstanding led to Chatterjee casting Anil Dhawan.
Do Jasoos is a 1975 Hindi comedy drama film produced and directed by Naresh Kumar. Raj Kapoor, Rajendra Kumar started in the title roles, along with Prem Chopra, Sujit Kumar, Farida Jalal, Aruna Irani among others. The music is by Ravindra Jain.
Souten is a 1983 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Saawan Kumar Tak, starring Rajesh Khanna, Tina Munim, Padmini Kolhapure, Prem Chopra and Pran. It was written by Kamleshwar, with music by Usha Khanna. The song "Shayad Meri Shaadi" sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar became especially memorable. Khanna's chemistry with Munim also proved popular. The film was remade in Kannada as Krishna Nee Begane Baro and in Telugu as Tene Manasulu.
Daag: A Poem of Love (transl. Smear) is a 1973 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film produced and directed by Yash Chopra in his debut as a producer, which laid the foundation of Yash Raj Films. It is an adaptation of the 1886 Thomas Hardy novel The Mayor of Casterbridge. The film stars Rajesh Khanna, Sharmila Tagore and Raakhee in lead roles, with Madan Puri, Kader Khan, Prem Chopra and A. K. Hangal.

Mehbooba is a 1976 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film based on the reincarnation theme, produced by Mushir-Riaz and directed by Shakti Samanta. The film stars Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini and Prem Chopra in pivotal roles. The music is composed by Rahul Dev Burman. The film is noted for an impressive performance by the lead pair and for its haunting melodies such as "Mere Naina Sawan Bhadon" sung separately by both Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar, "Chalo Ri" and the duet "Parbat Ke Peeche". The movie is based on Gulshan Nanda's novel Sisakate Saaz. Nanda has also written the screenplay. Upon release, the movie was a silver jubilee hit in many territories though it did not do too well in Mumbai. The film has gained cult status over the years.

There was big competition between the police and thugs to steal a diamond worth a million. There are suspenses one after another. Finally, the diamond was stolen and it had gone missing from hand to hand, until discovered with much effort by the heroes. Directed by Brij, The film stars Ashok Kumar, Raaj Kumar, Navin Nischol and Sharmila Tagore. The film's music is by Kalyanji-Anandji.

Tirulokchandar and starring Sivaji Ganesan, which itself was a remake of the 1965 Malayalam film Odayil Ninnu, a film adaptation of Malayalam writer P. Kesavadev's acclaimed novel of the same title.
