Abdulai Yakubu (born 6 May 1929) is a Ghanaian politician and member of the first parliament of the second republic of Ghana representing Savelugu constituency in the Northern Region of Ghana under the membership of the National Alliance Liberals (NAL) [1]
Abdulai was born on 6 May 1929 and lived in Yendi a town in Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana. [2] He attended Tamale Middle Boarding School,where he obtained a Middle School Leaving Certificate and later served as a Traditional ruler and a Farmer before going into Parliament.
Yakubu began his political career in 1969 when he became the parliamentary candidate for the NAL to represent his constituency in the Northern Region of Ghana prior to the commencement of the 1969 Ghanaian parliamentary election. [3]
Yakubu was sworn into the First Parliament of the Second Republic of Ghana on 1 October 1969,after being pronounced winner at the 1969 Ghanaian election held on 26 August 1969. His tenure of office as a member of parliament ended on 13 January 1972. [4]

Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani II (1945–2002) was the King of Dagbon,the traditional kingdom of the Dagomba people in northern Ghana,from 31 May 1974 until his assassination on 27 March 2002. He was born in August 1945 in Sagnarigu,a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana. Yakubu II was killed on 27 March 2002 at Yendi,the capital of the Kingdom of Dagbon,by unknown people when clashes broke out between the two feuding Gates of Dagbon Kingship. For 600 years the Abudu and Andani clans,named after two sons of the ancient Dagbon king Ya Naa Yakubu I,cordially rotated control of the kingdom centred in Yendi,530 kilometres (330 mi) north of Accra,the capital of Ghana. A regent acted as sovereign of the kingdom until 18 January 2019 when a new ruler is chosen to occupy the revered Lion Skins of Yendi.
Malik al-Hassan Yakubu is a member of the Pan-African Parliament from Ghana. He is a Ghanaian politician and a Member of parliament for the Yendi constituency. He was previously Minister of Interior,but resigned in 2002 amid accusations of backing one of the sides in a violent conflict in Yendi.
