Acta Asiatica Varsoviensia is an academic journal published by the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures of the Polish Academy of Sciences (until 2010 the Centre for Studies on Non-European Countries). Initially the journal was published in the Polish language, with article summaries written in English. Since the 13th issue, the journal was published in English, with occasional articles in French and German. [1]
The journal is issued since the year 1988. The position of the chief editor between the years 1988 and 2014 was occupied by professor Roman Sławiński. In the year 2015, the chief editor was professor Jerzy Zdanowski. During the year 2016, the chief editor of the journal was professor Krzysztof Trzciński. [2] The editor-in-chief is Małgorzata Wielińska-Soltwedel. [3]
The journal was initially published by Wydawnictwo Naukowe Semper. The issues 11-28 were released by Wydawnictwo Naukowe Askon. Since the volume 29 (2016), the journal has been published by Polish Academy of Sciences and Cultivate Foundation.[ citation needed ]

Wacław Franciszek Sierpiński was a Polish mathematician. He was known for contributions to set theory, number theory, theory of functions, and topology. He published over 700 papers and 50 books.
Florian Witold Znaniecki was a Polish and American philosopher and sociologist who taught and wrote in Poland and in the United States. Over the course of his work he shifted his focus from philosophy to sociology. He remains a major figure in the history of Polish and American sociology; the founder of Polish academic sociology, and of an entire school of thought in sociology. He won international renown as co-author, with William I. Thomas, of the study, The Polish Peasant in Europe and America (1918–1920), which is considered the foundation of modern empirical sociology. He also made major contributions to sociological theory, introducing terms such as humanistic coefficient and culturalism.
Fundamenta Mathematicae is a peer-reviewed scientific journal of mathematics with a special focus on the foundations of mathematics, concentrating on set theory, mathematical logic, topology and its interactions with algebra, and dynamical systems.
Jerzy Ryszard Szacki was a Polish sociologist and historian of ideas. From 1973 he was a professor at the University of Warsaw, and in 1991 became a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is considered one of the most prominent representatives of the Warsaw School of the History of Ideas.

The Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology University of Warsaw operates as an independent research institute of the University of Warsaw under the present name since 1990. It is dedicated to organizing, implementing and coordinating archaeological research, both excavations and study projects, as well as conservation, reconstruction and restoration projects, in northeastern Africa, the Near East and Cyprus. Projects include sites covering a broad chronological spectrum from the dawn of civilization through all the historic periods of the ancient Mediterranean civilizations to Late Antiquity and early Islam. Tasks beside fieldwork include comprehensive documentation of finds, archives management and publication of the results in keeping with international research standards. The PCMA manages the Research Centre in Cairo and Polish Archaeological Unit in Khartoum.

Stella Ewa Orłowska is a Polish logician whose research centers on the concept that everything in logic and set theory can be expressed in terms of relations, and who has used this idea to publish works on topics including deduction systems and model theory for non-classical logic, and logics of non-deterministic and incomplete information. She is a professor at the National Institute of Telecommunications in Warsaw, and the former president of the Polish Association for Logic and Philosophy of Science.
Piotr Bielinski is a Polish Mediterranean archaeologist, professor of humanities, specializing in the archaeology of the ancient Middle East. His research interests include the art - especially glyptics - and architecture of Mesopotamia, Syro-Palestine, Anatolia, and the Arabian Peninsula from the Chalcolithic to the Bronze Age. He has led over a dozen Polish archaeological expeditions to the Middle East.
