Adado Airport( IATA : AAD, ICAO : HCAD), also known as Cadaado Airport (Somali : Gegada Diyaaradaha Cadaado), is an airport serving the town of Adado in Adado District, Somalia. Adado Airport is the largest functional airport in Galmudug State of Somalia.

Adado District is a district in the central Galgaduud region of Somalia. Its capital lies at Adado. The city's population is from the Saleebaan, Habar girdir of Hawiye sub-clans.

Adado or “Blue City” is situated in the Galgadud region of Somalia. It served as the capital city of the Heman and Heeb State from 2008 to 2015. Adado is renowned for its stunning beauty and is widely regarded as the most populated city in the region. The city is a crucial trade route that connects the southern and northern regions of Somalia, making it a hub of economic activity.

On January 25, 2012, a team of United States Navy SEALs raided a compound 12 miles north of the Somali city of Adado, killing nine Somali pirates and freeing their hostages, American Jessica Buchanan and Dane Poul Hagen Thisted.

Himan and Heeb was an autonomous region in the Federal Republic of Somalia. Formed in 2008, its capital was the central town of Adado (Cadaado). In 2015 Himan and Heeb merged with Galmudug to form a much larger Galmudug which consists of Mudug and Galguduud regions.

Mohamed Abdi Hassan, commonly known as Afweyne, is a convicted Somali pirate leader. He founded the Hobyo-Harardhere Piracy Network in 2005 and rapidly grew to become one of Somalia's preeminent pirates. In 2012 he began to leave the piracy "industry" and diversified his holdings into a multinational business empire. Hassan was arrested that year in Malaysia but was released as he had managed to obtain diplomatic immunity from Mogadishu. Finally, in 2013 Hassan was lured to Belgium and sentenced in 2016 to twenty years' imprisonment for his many crimes.
