Adam Beashel is an Australian sailor. He is best known for being part of Team New Zealand at the 2003 America's Cup and strategist for Emirates Team New Zealand at the 2007 America's Cup. [1]

Beashel was part of the oneAustralia team that came second in the 1995 Louis Vuitton Cup. [2]

He is also a 49er sailor. Together with Teague Czislowski, he came second in that class at the 1999 World Championships [3] to Chris Nicholson and Ed Smyth.

He and Czislowski won the national selection process for the 2000 Olympics in the 49er class, but the Australian Yachting Federation instead nominated Nicholson and Daniel Phillips for the sole spot at the Olympics as they were considered better possibilities for a medal. [4] [5] Nicholson and Phillips eventually finished sixth. [6] He was injured in April 2007 while with Emirates Team New Zealand, and was replaced by Mark Mendelblatt. [7]

He is from a sailing family. His father Ken Beashel is a sailor and boat builder in Sydney. His brother Colin is an Olympic medal winning sailor who crewed on Australia II in 1983. [8] His wife Lanee Butler is a boardsailor who competed at four Olympics.

He and Lanee have two young sons, born in 2008 and 2009.

The 49er and 49er FX is a two-handed skiff-type high-performance sailing dinghy. The two crew work on different roles with the helm making many tactical decisions, as well as steering, and the crew doing most of the sail control. Both of the crew are equipped with their own trapeze and sailing is done while cantilevered over the water to the fullest extent to balance against the sails.

Iain Murray AM is an Australian sailor and yacht designer

Darren Bundock is an Australian sailor from Gosford, New South Wales. He won a silver medal in the Tornado class at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Bundock and current crewmate Glenn Ashby are the 2007 world champions in the Tornado class and ranked number one in the event going into the 2008 Summer Olympics. However, they were beaten by the Spanish crew and won silver. He was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder.

Tom Slingsby is a successful Australian competitive sailor. Slingsby's first successes came sailing Laser dinghys, where he won three consecutive world championships and the 2012 Olympic gold medal. Slingsby was the strategist for the America's Cup-winning Team Oracle USA in 2013. In 2016 he skippered the winner-of-line honours in the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race line. Following this he skippered the Australian team in the inaugural SailGP competition.

Colin Kenneth Beashel is an Australian sailor who crewed on the winning America's Cup team Australia II in 1983 and competed at six Olympics between 1984 and 2004, winning bronze in 1996. He became, jointly with Brazilian Torben Grael, the eighth sailor to compete at six Olympics. He helmed Australia Challenge at the 1992 Louis Vuitton Cup.

Lanee "Carrie" Butler-Beashel is an American windsurfer. She competed at four Olympics from 1992 to 2004. Her best position was fourth in 2000.

Chris Draper is a British sailor who has won multiple World and European championships and a bronze medal at the Sailing at the 2004 Olympic competing in the mixed 49er. He has been a winner of the Extreme Sailing Series and was helmsman for Luna Rossa, Italy's America's cup challenger 2011 to 2015. In the 34th Americas cup he became the first Britain to helm in the Louis Vuitton cup final. For the ACWS & 35th America's Cup between 2015 and the Cup event in Bermuda in June 2017 he held the position of Sailing Team Manager / Tactician and Wing trimmer for Softbank Team Japan. In 2019 he became CEO and Wing trimmer for the Great Britain team racing in the newly formed SailGP, racing the F50 hydro foiling catamarans in a global racing circuit. In 2021 he joined the Japanese SailGP team as a Wing Trimmer. winning multiple events during the 2021/2022 SailGP season and finishing runners up overall.

Peter Burling is a New Zealand sailor. He was the 2021 America's Cup winning skipper and helmsman, and the 2017 America's Cup winning helmsman of Team New Zealand. Burling won an Olympic gold medal in the 49er class at the 2016 games and silver medals in the 2012 and 2020 Olympics.

Ian Warwick Brown was an Australian sailor and coach who won the bronze medal for competitive sailing in the 1976 Olympics, 470 class. He was the youngest Australian to win an Olympic medal for sailing until 2008 when Elise Rechichi won the Gold medal.

Mark Mendelblatt is an American yachtsman. Married to windsurfer Carolina Mendelblatt, he primarily sails the Laser Radial, a one-design class of small single-handed sailing dinghy. Beginning in 2005, he also started to race in the two-person keelboat Star class.
