Adam Matthew Dowdy (born January 9, 1975) is an American former professional baseball umpire. He worked more than 400 games as a Major League Baseball reserve umpire between 2002 and 2007.
Dowdy graduated from the Jim Evans Academy of Professional Umpiring in 1995, where he would return as an instructor from 1996 to 2004. Dowdy worked in Class A baseball from 1995 to 1998, umpiring in the Gulf Coast League, Northwest League, Midwest League and Florida State League. In 1999 and 2000, Dowdy umpired in the Class Double-A Eastern League before a promotion to Triple-A baseball. Dowdy was contracted to the Pacific Coast League 2001-2005 and International League 2006–2008. Dowdy umpired the Florida Instructional League in 2000 and the Arizona Fall League 2001–2003.
Dowdy was selected to umpire minor league championships in 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, and 2008. Dowdy was selected to umpire All-Star Games in 1997, 2000, and 2005. Dowdy was at 3rd base for a no-hitter thrown by Brett Tomko on July 4, 2001, in Oklahoma City (PCL). Dowdy was behind home plate for the first 9-inning perfect game in PCL history on July 7, 2001 (John Halama in Tacoma, Washington). Dowdy umpired his first Major League game working 3rd base on June 18, 2002, in Atlanta (Detroit Tigers v. Atlanta Braves). Dowdy umpired the 2006 World Baseball Classic. Dowdy was umpiring 1st base for Alex Rodriguez's 500th home run on August 4, 2007, at Yankee Stadium.
Since 2009, Dowdy has umpired college baseball across several athletic conferences, including the Western Athletic Conference, Big 12 Conference and Pac-12 Conference. [1] Dowdy umpired behind home plate in the gold medal game of the 2011 Baseball World Cup in Panama. Dowdy was awarded the 2011 IBAF Umpire of the Year. Dowdy umpired behind home plate for the 2012 WAC championship game in Mesa, Arizona. Dowdy umpired the 2012 NCAA Baseball Championship Regional in Gary, Indiana.

The Memphis Redbirds are a Minor League Baseball team of the Triple-A East and the Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. They are located in Memphis, Tennessee, and are named for their Major League Baseball affiliate. The Redbirds play their home games at AutoZone Park, which opened in 2000 and is located in Downtown Memphis. The team previously played at Tim McCarver Stadium in 1998 and 1999.
Bruce Neal Froemming is Major League Baseball Special Assistant to the Vice President on Umpiring, after having served as an umpire in Major League Baseball. He first umpired in the National League in 1971, and from 2000 to 2007 worked throughout both major leagues. Early in the 2007 season, Froemming tied Bill Klem for the most seasons umpired. Previously, on August 16, 2006, Froemming umpired his 5,000th game between the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, making him the second umpire to reach that milestone; Klem retired after 5,374 games. Froemming now stands third on the all-time list of games umpired, having been passed when Joe West officiated his 5,164th Major League Baseball game on August 14, 2019. On April 20, 2007, he umpired at first base in the Cleveland Indians-Tampa Bay Devil Rays game, passing Klem to become – at age 67 years 204 days – the man then believed to be the oldest umpire in major league history; Hank O'Day holds the record, retiring at 68 years, 2 months. He worked his final regular-season game at age 68 years 2 days on September 30, 2007, when Froemming received a standing ovation before umpiring his last regular-season game, manning the third base position as the Milwaukee Brewers hosted the San Diego Padres at Miller Park in his native Milwaukee, with much of his family in attendance. Because Froemming is over age 65, he became eligible for election to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2010 instead of having to wait the customary five years.

Jerry Blake Layne is an American umpire in Major League Baseball who has worked in the National League between 1989 and 1999, and throughout both major leagues since 2000. He wore uniform number 24 in the NL, but when MLB merged the AL and NL umpiring staffs in 2000, Layne was forced to switch to number 26, as AL umpire Al Clark, who wore 24 in the junior circuit, had more seniority. When Clark was fired midway through the 2001 season by MLB, Layne reclaimed number 24 and has worn it ever since.

Throughout his National League career, Gregg wore uniform number 7.

The Triple-A National Championship Game, previously known as the Bricktown Showdown, is a single championship game held annually from 2006 to 2019 between champions of the two Triple-A leagues of Minor League Baseball (MiLB) to determine an overall champion of the classification. When the championship game was last held in 2019, these leagues were the International League (IL) and Pacific Coast League (PCL). The game was not played in 2020, as the minor-league season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Triple-A All-Star Game is an annual baseball game sanctioned by Minor League Baseball between professional players from the two affiliated Triple-A leagues. When last held in 2019, these leagues were the International League (IL) and Pacific Coast League (PCL). In conjunction with Major League Baseball's restructuring of Minor League Baseball in 2021, these leagues disbanded, and Triple-A teams were reorganized into the Triple-A East and Triple-A West. There is no Triple-A All-Star Game scheduled for 2021.
