Adam Pollina is an American comic book artist and penciller. [1] He is best known for his work on Marvel Comics' X-Force , Rise of Apocalypse , and Angel: Revelation, Charlemagne at Defiant, Rai: Fallen World, and Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #2 at Valiant, [2] Loose Cannon and Big Daddy Danger at DC Comics, and Pyrate Queen from Bad Idea Comics. Adam Pollina graduated with honors from the Rhode Island School of Design. [8]
He started his comic career immediately after college, illustrating for Friendly Comics in 1992, an adult comics imprint of Personality Comics, co-owned by Eric Shefferman. [9] Later, at Shefferman's Triumphant Comics, he illustrated Chromium Man. [10]
Pollina's work was spotted by writer Jeph Loeb, and in 1994 Loeb and Pollina collaborated on Loose Cannon, a DC Comics four-issue limited featuring Superman.
Pollina's work was then noticed by Marvel Comics founder Stan Lee,[ citation needed ] which led to work at Marvel. Pollina's Marvel included a run on X-Force , the limited series Rise of Apocalypse , the occasional issue of Generation X , and a variety of other contributions. [11]
Pollina began to pencil X-Force in 1995 with issue #44 and continued as regular penciler until #81 in 1998. [12] [13] [14] [15] [16]
During this time, Pollina began working in the video game industry, illustrating character design for EA Sports on such groundbreaking games as James Bond: Golden Eye , NBA Street Vol. 2 , SSX Tricky , Def Jam Vendetta Wrestling, and God of War for Sony Activision.
Approached by Stan Winston Studios in 2001, Pollina was hired to design the female Terminator in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines .[ citation needed ]
In 2002, he produced the creator-owned limited series Big Daddy Danger, which was published by DC Comics and purchased by Disney Studios in 2003.[ citation needed ]
In 2002, Pollina directed his first music video, Enemy, for the band Sevendust. Pollina went on to direct several other music videos for bands like My Morning Jacket, Tsar, Elkland, and The Blue Van.
In 2008 Pollina returned to Marvel, teaming up with writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa to retell Angel's origin story [17] in the five-issue mini series Angel: Revelations. The story tells how Warren overcomes the trials and tribulations of a cold family life, his growing physical mutation while living at boarding school, abuse of power from authority figures, and deals with a religious zealot on a murdering crusade across America. In 2010 Pollina relocated to Bali, Indonesia, founded a bespoke atelier and began creating custom jewelry and garments for an elite list of clients. His designs were featured in the 2012 Biennale in Venice as well as Art Basel Miami 2013.[ citation needed ]
In 2014, Pollina became creative director for the world-renowned arts/music festival Wonderfruit.[ citation needed ]
Pollina returned to the comics industry in the beginning of 2018, working on Secret Weapons #0 written by Eric Heisserer. [18] [19] [15] Shortly after, Pollina returned to DC Comics to illustrate the Outlaws Annual Volume 3, written by Jeph Loeb. In 2019, he illustrated the sci-fi epic series Fallen World by Dan Abnett for Valiant. [20] [21] [22] [23]
In 2021, Adam Pollina, Matt Kindt, and Matt Hollingsworth created the fantasy book Whalesville, published by Bad Idea. [24] [25]
Pollina partnered with an all-star creative team to launch Rebel Studios, a multi-platform gaming and content provider. Their first project, titled EY3K0N, was a genesis NFT collection successfully launched in 2022. [26]

Oni Press is an American independent comic book and graphic novel publisher based in Portland, Oregon, best known for publishing such series as Scott Pilgrim and Rick and Morty. In 2019, it became an imprint label following the company's merger with Lion Forge Comics. The merged company, Oni–Lion Forge Publishing Group (OLFPG), is owned by Polarity. Oni Press has remained the "predominant name used for publishing comics" by OLFPG.
Robert Liefeld is an American comic book creator. A prominent writer and artist in the 1990s, he is known for co-creating the character Cable with writer Louise Simonson and the character Deadpool with writer Fabian Nicieza. In the early 1990s, Liefeld gained popularity due to his work on Marvel Comics' The New Mutants and later X-Force. In 1992, he and several other popular Marvel illustrators left the company to found Image Comics, which started a wave of comic books owned by their creators rather than by publishers. The first book published by Image Comics was Liefeld's Youngblood #1.
Valiant Comics is an American comic book publisher, the first incarnation of which was founded in 1989 by former Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Jim Shooter along with lawyer and businessman Steven Massarsky. In 1994, the company was sold to Acclaim Entertainment. After Acclaim’s 2004 bankruptcy, the company’s assets were purchased as part of Valiant Entertainment by entrepreneurs Dinesh Shamdasani and Jason Kothari in 2005. In 2011, Valiant received a capital infusion from private investment company Cuneo & Company, LLC. Peter Cuneo and Gavin Cuneo joined the company and a relaunch was announced.

Marvel Now! is a comic book branding for the relaunch of several ongoing comic books published by Marvel Comics, that debuted in October 2012 with new #1 issues. The relaunch also included some new titles, including Uncanny Avengers and All-New X-Men. Described as a shifting of the Marvel Universe following the conclusion of the "Avengers vs. X-Men" storyline, Marvel Now! entailed changes to both the publishing format and the universe to attract new readers. Publishing changes included new creative teams for each of the titles and the in-universe changes included changes to character designs and new storylines. It marked the next stage of the Marvel ReEvolution initiative, which began in March 2012. The original run went through several waves before coming to an end in May 2015 at the start of the "Secret Wars" storyline. A second Marvel Now!, Marvel Now! 2.0, debuted in 2016 following the "Civil War II" storyline. Marvel Now! 2.0 was followed in 2017 by Marvel Legacy.

Rick and Morty is an American comic book series written by Zac Gorman, Kyle Starks, and Alex Firer and illustrated by Marc Ellerby, based on the television series of the same name. Oni Press published the original series across 60 issues from April 1, 2015, until March 25, 2020. Using the television series' established premise of alternate timelines, the first two volumes expressly follow the Rick and Morty of a different dimension (C-132) on the "Central Finite Curve" than the protagonists of the television series so-as not to contradict its continuity, before the series switches focus over to the same Rick (C-137) and Morty of the television series following the "Head-Space" arc (#12–14) in the third volume, featuring sequel storylines to specific episodes of the series, with elements of the comic series and references to its events later being incorporated into the television series. Backup stories of the series alternate between focusing on Rick (C-137) and his Morty and various Ricks and Mortys from alternate dimensions, before the primary storyline switches focus over to yet another Rick and Morty at an unspecified point before/during the final volume of the series. In October 2022, a revival of Rick and Morty was announced for a January 2023 release date, spinning out of the limited series Rick's New Hat, from the same new creative team.
BRZRKR is a comic book series created and written by Keanu Reeves and Matt Kindt and drawn by Ron Garney. The comic follows an immortal warrior, known as Berzerker, as he fights his way through the ages. The first issue of the 12-issue limited series was published on March 3, 2021, by Boom! Studios. It raised more than $1.4 million USD in its funding campaign on Kickstarter.
