La Ley were a Chilean rock band formed by Andrés Bobe, Rodrigo Aboitiz, Luciano Rojas and Mauricio Claveria with Beto Cuevas. The band has won one Grammy Award, two Latin Grammy Awards, three Lo Nuestro Awards and three Premios MTV Latinoamérica.
Belanova are a Mexican pop band formed in Guadalajara, Jalisco, in 2000. The band consists of Denisse Guerrero, Edgar Huerta and Ricardo "Richie" Arreola. Although these are the only three official members, several other musicians performed in the band's live lineup, most notably Israel "Campanita" Ulloa (drums) and Richo Acosta (guitar). The band was signed to Virus Records, owned by Universal Music, in 2002.
Luis Alberto Cuevas Olmedo, better known as Beto Cuevas, is a Chilean-Canadian singer, songwriter, plastic artist, painter, and actor. He is the lead singer for the Chilean band La Ley. In 2008 he launched his solo career with the release of his album, Miedo Escénico. In 2012 he released his second album, Transformación.
Historias e Histeria is La Ley's second greatest hits compilation album. The band was convinced to do this in lieu of a new studio album. The band had to make an album of 16 songs in very limited amount of time. The album was released almost immediately after their previous album Libertad after only one year of the latter's release. The album contains some of the most popular songs of each of their albums plus three new songs, "Mirate", "Histeria", and "Bienvenido al Anochecer." The first single of the album Mírate was released while the band was still promoting the final single "Mi Ley" from the album, Libertad.

"Gracias a la vida" is a song written, composed and performed by Chilean folk singer-songwriter Violeta Parra, one of the artists who was part of the movement and musical genre known as the Nueva Canción Chilena. Parra composed "Gracias a la vida" in La Paz, Bolivia in 1966. It was included on Las Últimas Composiciones, the last album Parra published before dying by suicide in 1967. The song is one of Parra's most renowned. It is performed throughout the world and remains one of the most covered Latin American songs in history.
