Adi Fahrudin (born January 12, 1966) [1] is an Indonesian academic. He is dean of the Universitas Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya and a professor of social work under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia. [2] [3]

Fahrudi is editor-in-chief of the Asian Social Work Journal (ASWJ). [4] He was the first professor in social welfare in Indonesia. [5]

Academic career

Adi Fahrudin currently serves as the director of the Institute for Research, Community Service, and Publication (appointed in June 2022) and as dean of the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya (since August 2023). From 2012 to 2022, was professor in social work at the University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta. [6] He was professor at the Bandung Polytechnic of Social Welfare from 1993 to 2011. [7] [8]

Fahrudin has been a visiting professor at Japan College of Social Work, Tokyo, Japan (2018–2025); Universiti Malaysia Sabah (2015–2023); Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (2014–2015); and Universiti Sains Malaysia (1997–1998). [9]

Japan College of Social Work is a private university in Kiyose, Tokyo, Japan, established in 1958. Formerly the JCSW was called Japan School of Social Work and established by the GHQ, Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan in 1946. Therefore, the tuitions of the college are the same as other national universities, although being a private university. Mubyarto was an Indonesian economist. He was born in Sleman, in Yogyakarta, and became a professor of economics at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta specialising in agricultural economics. He frequently wrote and spoke about challenges of agricultural development in Indonesia. Later in his career he became known for his interest in Pancasila economics and ekonomi rakyat.
