Adiel Palma López (born August 20, 1970) is a Cuban left-handed pitcher for the Cuban national baseball team and Cienfuegos of the Cuban National Series. [1] Palma was on the gold medal-winning Cuban team at the 2004 Summer Olympics and the silver medal-winning team at the 2006 World Baseball Classic.
During the 2005-06 Cuban National Series, Palma was only 5–9 with a 5.02 ERA, but did strike out 109 batters in only 123+2⁄3 innings. [2]
Today, baseball is a popular sport around the world with numerous countries practicing it at amateur and professional levels.
The United States national baseball team, also known as Team USA represents the United States in international-level baseball competitions. The team is currently ranked 2nd in the world by the World Baseball Softball Confederation. The United States has won many international tournaments, many of which are now discontinued. Most notably the team won the Olympic baseball tournament in 2000, and the World Baseball Classic (WBC) in 2017.
The Canada national baseball team represents Canada in international baseball. They are overseen by Baseball Canada, the governing body of baseball in Canada.
The Puerto Rico national baseball team, also known as Team Rubio is the national baseball team of Puerto Rico. The men's senior team is currently ranked 13th in the world. Puerto Rico is the incumbent Pan American and Central American/Caribbean champion, as well as the World Baseball Classic runner-up. The team will compete against Israel, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Nicaragua in the 2023 World Baseball Classic in March 2023 in Miami, Florida.
The Cuba national baseball team represents Cuba at regional and international levels. The team is made up from the most professional players from the Cuban national baseball system. Cuba has been described as a baseball powerhouse and currently ranks 8th in WBSC's world rankings. It has medalled in five of the six Olympics in which baseball was played. Cuba played in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. The team tried but failed to qualify for the 2020 Olympics at the eight-team Americas Qualifying Event on May 31 through June 5, 2021.
Pedro Luis Lazo Iglesias is a top pitcher in Cuban baseball. He is used predominantly as a reliever in international competition, although he is a starter in the Cuban National Series, where he plays for Pinar del Río. His fastball has been clocked at 97 mph, and he combined it with a mid-80s slider.
Omar Linares Izquierdo is a former Cuban baseball player. He was born in San Juan y Martínez, Pinar del Río Province, Cuba. Linares played third base for the Cuba national baseball team and for Pinar del Río and Vegueros in the Cuban National Series wearing the number 10 on his jersey. After a career as a player in Cuba, Linares, along with other Cuba baseball players such as Antonio Pacheco, Orestes Kindelan, and German Mesa, in coordination with the Cuba national baseball commission, decided to try the Nippon Professional Baseball. Linares spent three seasons with the Chunichi Dragons, wearing the number 44 on his jersey, before returning to Cuba. In 2009 Linares decided to become a batting coach and first base coach for longtime rival team Industriales, helping them to conquer a national championship. Although Linares never received an official retiring ceremony, the season of 2001–2002 is considered to be his last appearance in Cuba National Baseball Series.
Elefantes de Cienfuegos is a baseball team in the Cuban National Series. Based in the southern city of Cienfuegos, the Elefantes had their best season in their second year of existence, finishing fourth in the National Series. The team achieved its best result in the 2009–10 season finishing third.
Omar Ajete Iglesias is a Cuban former baseball pitcher, who starred for the Cuban National Series' Pinar del Río and the Cuban national team.

Antonio Scull Hernández is a first baseman with Industriales of the Cuban National Series and a longtime member of the Cuban national baseball team. Representing Cuba, Scull won gold medals at the 1996 and 2004 Summer Olympics and won a silver medal in 2000.

The team is ranked fourth in the world by the World Baseball Softball Confederation. The team is usually made up of professionals from Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League, Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball, and Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball from the United States.
The 1945 Amateur World Series was the eighth edition of the Amateur World Series (AWS), an international men's amateur baseball tournament. The tournament was sanctioned by the International Baseball Federation. The tournament took place, for the second time, in Venezuela, which had also hosted the previous (1944) tournament. It was contested by six national teams playing ten games each from October 27 through November 18 in Caracas.
The Puerto Rico women's national baseball team is a national team of Puerto Rico and is controlled by the Federación de Béisbol Aficionado de Puerto Rico. It represents the nation in women's international competition. The team is a member of the COPABE. They are currently ranked tenth in the world.
