The African Geographical Review is a biannual peer-reviewed academic journal published by Taylor & Francis on behalf of the American Association of Geographers' Africa Specialty Group. [1]
The journal was originally established in 1963 at Makerere University (Uganda) as the East African Geographical Review. Due to political turmoil in Uganda, the journal had to suspend publication for a number of years. It was renamed as the African Geographical Review in 2000. [2] Since 2012 it is published by Taylor & Francis.
Uganda, officially the Republic of Uganda, is a landlocked country in East Africa. The country is bordered to the east by Kenya, to the north by South Sudan, to the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to the south-west by Rwanda, and to the south by Tanzania. The southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria, shared with Kenya and Tanzania. Uganda is in the African Great Lakes region, lies within the Nile basin, and has a varied but generally modified equatorial climate. It has a population of around 49.6 million, of which 8.5 million live in the capital and largest city of Kampala.
Taylor & Francis Group is an international company originating in England that publishes books and academic journals. Its parts include Taylor & Francis, Routledge, F1000 Research and Dovepress. It is a division of Informa plc, a United Kingdom–based publisher and conference company.
F1000 is an open research publisher for scientists, scholars, and clinical researchers. F1000 offers a different research evaluation service from standard academic journals by offering peer-review after, rather than before, publishing a research article. Initially, F1000 was named after the 1,000 faculty members that performed peer-reviews, but over time F1000 expanded to more than 8,000 members. When F1000 was acquired by Taylor & Francis Group in January 2020, it kept the publishing services. F1000Prime and F1000 Workspace were acquired by different brands.
Advances in Physics is a bimonthly scientific journal published by Taylor & Francis that was established in 1952. The journal is also issued as a supplement to the Philosophical Magazine. Peer review is determined on a case-by-case basis. The editors-in-chief are Paolo Radaelli and Joerg Schmalian.
The Mandela National Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Uganda. It is named after the South African then-President and anti-apartheid icon, Nelson Mandela. The stadium's record attendance of 50,000 was set in 2004, in a football match between the national football teams of Uganda and South Africa.
Mount Zulia is in the Karamoja region in the north-east of Uganda in the Kidepo Valley National Park. Mount Morungole and the Labwor and Dodoth Hills, which reach heights in excess of 2,000 metres (6,600 ft), are nearby. Mount Zulia is 2,149 metres (7,051 ft) high.
Urban Geography is a peer-reviewed academic journal that was first published in 1980. It appears ten times per year and covers topics concerning urban policy and planning, race, poverty, ethnicity in urban areas, housing, and provision of services and urban economic activity.

The Journal of the American Statistical Association (JASA) is the primary journal published by the American Statistical Association, the main professional body for statisticians in the United States. It is published four times a year in March, June, September and December by Taylor & Francis, Ltd on behalf of the American Statistical Association.
The Canadian Journal of African Studies is a triannual peer-reviewed academic journal covering African studies that was established in 1967. It is published by the Canadian Association of African Studies. Articles are published in English or French and cover the areas of anthropology, political economy, history, geography, and development. In addition to "Research Articles", the journal includes a section called "Debate and Commentary" that presents divergent viewpoints on current issues. Another section called "Research Note" permits contributors to discuss the latest writing, opinion, and research sources on African issues. A book review and review essay section provides critiques of recent books and reports.
Eurasian Geography and Economics is a bimonthly peer-reviewed academic journal covering economic and political geography as well as macroeconomics of the Eurasian continent. It primarily covers geography also publishes interdisciplinary works. In addition to research, it also covers literature review, as well as shorter articles on its Eurasian Pulse portion of the journal. It is published by Taylor & Francis and was established in 1960 as Soviet Geography. It went through a series of name changes: Post-Soviet Geography (1992–1995) and Post-Soviet Geography and Economics (1996–2002) before obtaining its current title in 2002. The journal is edited by Craig Young.
Victors FC was a Ugandan association football team based in Kampala which played in the Ugandan Super League until their relegation in 2012.
The Annals of the American Association of Geographers is a bimonthly peer-reviewed academic journal covering geography. It was established in 1911 as the Annals of the Association of American Geographers.
The Cartographic Journal is an established peer-reviewed academic journal of record and comment that is published on behalf of the British Cartographic Society by Taylor & Francis. An official journal of the International Cartographic Association (ICA), it contains authoritative papers on all aspects of cartography: the art, science and technology of presenting, communicating and analysing spatial relationships by means of maps and other geographical representations of the Earth's surface. This includes coverage of related technologies where appropriate, for example, remote sensing and geographical information systems (GIS), the internet, satellite navigation and positioning systems, laser scanning, and terrain modelling. The Journal also publishes articles on social, political and historical aspects of cartography. Occasionally, Special Issues are published that focus on a particular research theme.
Gender, Place & Culture: A Journal of Feminist Geography is a peer-reviewed journal published 12 times a year by Taylor & Francis. It is the leading international journal in feminist geography and it aims to provide "a forum for debate in human geography and related disciplines on theoretically-informed research concerned with gender issues".
The South African Historical Journal is a quarterly peer-reviewed academic journal covering research on the Southern African region. It was established in 1969 and is published on behalf of the South African Historical Society by the University of South Africa and published internationally by Taylor & Francis.
Nyenga Mission Hospital, whose formal name is St. Francis Hospital Nyenga, but is commonly referred to as Nyenga Hospital, is a non-profit, community hospital in Uganda. It is owned and operated by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lugazi.
Cartography and Geographic Information Science is an academic journal about cartography and geographic information science published by Taylor & Francis on behalf of the U.S. Cartography and Geographic Information Society, in affiliation with the International Cartographic Association. Its editor-in-chief is Alexander Ken; its 2018 impact factor is 2.271.
The Journal of Geography is an American academic journal published by the National Council for Geographic Education. The journal "publishes research, instructional approaches and book reviews on innovative approaches to geography research, teaching, and learning."
