Aftab Ahmed Gogi;born 6 May 1931) is a former Pakistani cricketer. He was born in Lahore. He was a right-arm off spin bowler and right-handed batsman. [1]
Aftab made his first-class debut for Punjab University during the 1948–49 season against a Punjab Governor's XI,and played in a similar fixture two seasons later. He played for Punjab during the first two editions of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy,in 1953–54 and 1954–55. His only other first-class appearance was for Punjab against the touring Indians in February 1955. [2]
Aftab's first-class career best came against North-West Frontier Province in November 1954. He took a career-best 6/27 in the first innings and 5/52 in the second innings,finishing with match figures of 11/79. [1] [3]
Mushtaq Ahmed Malik is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who currently acts as the spin bowling coach for the Pakistan Cricket Team. A leg break googly bowler,at his peak he was described as being one of the best three wrist-spinners in the world. In an international career that spanned from 1990 until 2003,he claimed 185 wickets in Test cricket and 161 in One Day Internationals. He was at his most prolific internationally between 1995 and 1998,but his most successful years were as a domestic player for Sussex in the early 2000s.

During his first-class career,he played 49 matches and took 142 wickets at an average of 27.71. Former Pakistan cricketer Waqar Hasan said about him that he "was a fighter to the core and served Pakistan cricket with honour and dignity."

A right-arm fast-medium bowler,he took nine wickets in Test cricket at an average of 39.77,including a five-wicket haul against England. During his first-class career,he took 197 wickets at the average of 21.75.

Aftab Ahmed was a Pakistani cricketer. Primarily a batsman,all of Aftab's matches at first-class level came for Peshawar,during the 1956–57 and 1957–58 seasons of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He made his debut for the team in December 1956,against Punjab at the Peshawar Club Ground,a match which Peshawar lost by an innings and 169 runs after Fazal Mahmood took 8/21 in the team's first innings. The position in which Aftab batted was irregular;in his first match,he had opened the batting,but in later matches he batted as low as tenth. He played one further match during the 1956–57 season,and three the following season,but rarely made more than single-figure score. His highest score was an innings of 33 runs against Railways in October 1957. Having scored only 51 runs from his eight innings for Peshawar,at an average of 7.71,Aftab played no further matches at first-class level.

Despite being only 20 years old during his debut season,the 2002–03 season was his only season at a major level,although he did continue to play inter-district matches for local teams until the late 2000s.
