Agak Achuil Lual is a South Sudanese Politician. [1] He served as the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning since November 2021 under the Transitional Government of National Unity,was relieved in August 2022. [2] [3] [4]
He became the first Undersecretary of Trade and Industry on March 19,2018. He was formerly in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning as Undersecretary dealing with financial management matters and also he served as a Minister of Finance and Economic Planning in 2021 until his removal in August,2022. Agak's prior public service includes being Director General in the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining. Prior to joining the government,he worked with the UNDP as Finance Management Specialist.
He also served as a Senior Logistic Coordinator for UNDP in Rumbek. Agak also served with UN/OCHA in Aweil East and Northern Bahr El Ghazal as a Field Officer.
He holds Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting &Business Administration) from University of Zagazig,Egypt,and Higher Diploma in Administration from Heritage College,Ottawa,Canada. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma and Masters of Science in Accounting &Finance from University of Juba,Republic of South Sudan. [5]
While addressing media in Juba during a joint press briefing with the Central Bank of South Sudan,Minister Agak Achuil Lual said that,"the reason the country has been unable to pay civil servants’salary arrears since January,is because the oil of the country had been sold till 2027", [2] which he later explained,that what he “meant was the crude (oil) spreadsheet and commitments on the developmental projects until 2027,and it doesn’t mean that South Sudan oil has been sold out.” [1]
Central Equatoria is a state in South Sudan. With an area of 43,033 square kilometres (16,615 sq mi),it is the smallest of the original South Sudanese states. Its previous name was Bahr al-Jabal,named after a tributary of the White Nile that flows through the state. It was renamed Central Equatoria in the first Interim Legislative Assembly on 1 April 2005 under the government of Southern Sudan. Central Equatoria seceded from Sudan as part of the Republic of South Sudan on 9 July 2011. The state's capital,Juba,is also the national capital of South Sudan. On October 2,2015,the state was split into three states:Jubek,Terekeka,and Yei River. The state of Central Equatoria was re-established by a peace agreement signed on 22 February 2020.
Juba is the capital and largest city of South Sudan. The city is situated on the White Nile and also serves as the capital of the Central Equatoria State. It is the world's newest capital city to be elevated as such,and had a population of 525,953 in 2017. It has an area of 52 km2 (20 sq mi),with the metropolitan area covering 336 km2 (130 sq mi).

He is a proven professional and held various cabinet positions in the Government of the Republic of South Sudan. He is a senior member of Sudan’s People Liberation Movement (SPLM) and had served in various cabinet positions. Stephen Dhieu Dau was the Minister of Finance and Planning until March 2018 in the RSS. He served as Minister of Petroleum and Mining and Minister of Commerce and Industry. Stephen Dhieu Dau is from Melut County,Upper Nile State,and belongs to the Nyiel section of the Padang Dinka ethnic group. In October 2022,President Salva Kiir appointed Stephen Dhieu Dau as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Revenue Authority. In December 2022,He was appointed as a member of the SPLM Political Bureau.
Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia-Transport (LAPSSET) Corridor project,also known as Lamu corridor is a transport and infrastructure project in Kenya that,when complete,will be the country's second transport corridor. Kenya's other transport corridor is the Mombasa - Uganda transport corridor that passes through Nairobi and much of the Northern Rift. Some basic LAPSSET infrastructure has been built. The construction of LAPSSET's main components is currently ongoing with construction of the first berth at Lamu Port completed in October,2019 (situation as per October 2019).. Although the project is not formally stalled,its short to medium term success looks increasingly unlikely. Insecurity and political instability in Kenya are mostly to blame for this,as are more commercially viable alternative pipeline options through Tanzania or Ethiopia. The low oil prices since 2015 also affect LAPSSET's commercial prospects.

Established in July 2011,by an Act of Parliament,it replaced the now defunct Bank of Southern Sudan,a former branch of the Bank of Sudan,which had served as the central bank of South Sudan,during the period between February 2005 until July 2011. Isaiah Kulang Mabor DengDak Anguany was a South Sudanese politician who was Minister for Communications,Transport and Roads and member of the People's Regional Assembly,in the capital of Juba,serving as Speaker of the House between 1979 and 1980. Kulang was a prominent member of the Southern Front by then and in the late 1980s he participated actively in founding the United Sudan African Party (USAP).
On 4 January 2018,SPLM-IO rebels loyal to Chan Garang Lual attacked the western parts of Juba,the capital of South Sudan. The raid was part of the South Sudanese Civil War. Once in Juba,the insurgents were reportedly joined by Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) soldiers who were loyal to deposed chief of staff Paul Malong Awan. Following heavy fighting lasting until early 5 January,the rebels retreated into the countryside. Even though Chan Garang assumed responsibility for the attack,both the South Sudanese government and the SPLM-IO condemned the clashes,with the latter claiming that its forces had not been involved at all.
Puot Kang Chol is a South Sudanese politician. Puot is currently the Minister of Petroleum in the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity (R-TGoNU) as of 2022. He is also a member of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement In-Opposition (SPLM-IO).
