Ahmed Shimi (1294 in Borujerd - July 19, 2014) was a microbiologist, veterinarian and university professor from Iran. [1] He is one of the winners of the 5th edition of the lasting figures in the field of microbiology (2014). [2] [3] [4]
Shimi was born in Borujerd in 1294 solar year. After obtaining his diploma from Shahid Rajai High School in Tehran, he entered the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tehran and received his doctorate in 1321. He then taught at the University of Tehran and retired in 1358. During these years, Ahmad Shimi established the Bacteriology Laboratory, Virology Laboratory, and Avian Diseases Department at the University of Tehran. From 1361 to 1382, he also taught at the Islamic Azad University.
He passed away on Thursday, 19 Tir 1393, due to old age

Zarar Ahmad Moqbel Osmani is a politician in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2015 and Minister of Interior from 30 September 2005 to 11 October 2008. He previously served as Minister of Counter Narcotics and as Governor of Parwan Province. Prior to this he served as Chief of Police of Parwan province and as First Secretary to Afghan Embassy in Tehran. He also joined the mujahideen during the Soviet–Afghan War, fighting against the Afghan government led by Mohammad Najibullah.
Seyyed Ahmad Madani, mostly known as Ahmad Madani, was an Iranian politician, Commander of Iranian Navy (1979), governor of the Khuzestan province (1979–80) and candidate in the first Iranian presidential election. Madani became a navy Commodore in 1970, but was removed in 1973. He later became a navy commander after the revolution and was the first ever Minister of Defence under the new regime. Madani was also elected to the first parliament from Kerman, but was not approved. He eventually fled to the United States in 1980.
