Ahsan Asadullah (born December 8, 1998) is an American basketball player who is currently a free agent. He played in college for the Lipscomb Bisons, where he was a three-time First Team All-ASUN Conference selection.

High school career

Asadullah played basketball for North Clayton High School in College Park, Georgia. As a senior, he averaged 15.1 points and 10 rebounds per game, leading his team to a Region 4-3A runner-up finish. [1] He committed to playing college basketball for Lipscomb over offers from Georgia State, Little Rock, James Madison, Bucknell, Brown and Alcorn State. [2] [3]

College career

Asadullah redshirted his first season at Lipscomb because of a knee injury. [4] As a freshman, he averaged 7.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, receiving ASUN Conference All-Freshman Team honors. [5] On March 3, 2020, at the ASUN tournament quarterfinals, Asadullah posted a career-high 40 points and 14 rebounds in a 68–63 win against Florida Gulf Coast. He set the Allen Arena single-game scoring record. [6] As a sophomore, he averaged 18.6 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game, earning First Team All-ASUN honors. [7] [8] On December 12, 2020, Asadullah recorded a junior season-high 29 points and 11 rebounds in an 81–71 loss to Belmont. [9] As a junior, he averaged 14.1 points, eight rebounds and 3.4 assists per game, repeating as a First Team All-ASUN selection. He led all NCAA Division I centers in assists. [10] Asadullah was named to the First Team All-ASUN for the third season as a senior. [11]

Personal life

Asadullah's father, Jalal, played college basketball for Akron. [4] His oldest brother, Marcus Georges-Hunt, played for Georgia Tech before embarking on a professional career, including in the NBA. [12] Another older brother, Jalal Johnson, competed for Lindenwood. [4]

The Lipscomb Bisons men's basketball team is the men's basketball team that represents Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. The school's team currently competes in the ASUN Conference. The Bisons made their first ever trip to the NCAA tournament in school history in 2018, when they defeated Florida Gulf Coast University in the ASUN Conference tournament final. In 2019, Lipscomb made history by becoming the first team in ASUN history to make it to the NIT Finals.

The 2020–21 Lipscomb Bisons men's basketball team represented Lipscomb University in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bisons, led by 2nd-year head coach Lennie Acuff, played their home games at the Allen Arena in Nashville, Tennessee as members of the Atlantic Sun Conference. They finished the season 15-12, 9-6 in ASUN Play to finish in 3rd place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the ASUN tournament to Florida Gulf Coast.

The 2020–21 ASUN Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October 2020, followed by the start of the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Conference play began in January 2021 and concluded in March 2021. It was the 43rd season of ASUN Conference basketball. This season was also the first ASUN season for Bellarmine, which started a transition from NCAA Division II when it joined the ASUN on July 1, 2020.
