Aisha Akram also spelt Ayesha Akram is a former badminton player from Pakistan.
Akram is a two-time (2005, 2007) national champion. [1] She represented National Bank of Pakistan domestically. [2] In the 51st National badminton championship held at Rodham Hall, Islamabad in 2008, defending singles champion, Akram lost to Sara Khan in the final. Earlier in the semi-finals she had beaten Sara Mohmand, 21–17, 21–17. [2] In the women's double, she reached the finals against Sara Mohmad and Sara Khan with her teammate, Palwasha Bashir. They beat Uzma Butt and Saima Waqas of Wapda, 21-14 and 21–16 in the semi-finals. [2]
Akram has represented Pakistan internationally in singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.
In 1995, she participated in singles (lost in round of 128), women's doubles with Zarina Jamal (lost in round of 128) and mixed doubles with Islam Amir (lost in round of 64) events at the BWF World Championships held in Lausanne, Switzerland. [3] Two years later (1997), she competed in the singles (lost in round of 64) and women's doubles with Asma Butt (lost in round of 32) qualification rounds at the BWF World Championships held in Glasgow, UK [3]
In 2006, she competed at the South Asian Games held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. She won a bronze medal in the women's team event with Farzana Saleem, Saima Manzoor, Uzma Butt and Asma Butt. [4]
In 2008, Akram won the mixed doubles title at the Syria International Series with Mohammad Attique. [5]
In 2010, she participated in the women's doubles and mixed doubles events at the 11th South Asian Games held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In women's doubles she partnered with Palwasha Bashir reaching the quarter-finals before falling to the Sri Lanka pair of Renu Chandrika de Silva Hettiarachchige and Nadeesha Gayanthi M. by 8-21 and 17–21. [6] In mixed doubles she partnered with Imran Mohib reaching the quarter-finals before losing to the Sri Lankan pair of Niluka Karunaratne and Renu Chandrika de Silva Hettiarachchige (7-21,20-22). Thilini Sudhara Jayasinghe is a Sri Lankan badminton player. Born in Peradeniya, Jayasinghe started playing badminton aged 9, and has joined the national team in 2000. She attended Mahamaya College and was named Best Sports Woman in 2004. In 2006 and 2010, she competed at the Asian and Commonwealth Games. Jayasinghe also competed for Sri Lanka at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics in the women's singles event. She is the first woman badminton player to have ever represented Sri Lanka at the Olympic Games.
Pranaav Jerry Chopra is an Indian badminton player. He joined the India national badminton team in 2007. In the year 2018, at the Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Queensland, he won the gold medal in mixed team as being a member of the Indian mixed team. He is only the second player from India to reach Top 15 in the World Rankings in Mixed Doubles with his partner.
Sara Thygesen is a Danish badminton player, specializing in doubles. She started playing badminton at Gårslev in 2002. She got an award for the best female athlete of the year 2007 in her hometown Fredericia. In 2014, she joined the Denmark national badminton team, then in 2015, she won a gold medal at the European Games with her partner in the mixed doubles Niclas Nøhr.

Saima Manzoor also known as Saima Waqas is a Pakistani badminton player. She was the bronze medalists at the 2006 South Asian Games in the mixed doubles and team events. Manzoor won the 2016 Pakistan International tournament in the women's doubles event.
Sidra Hamad is a Pakistani badminton player. She was the bronze medalist at the 2016 South Asian Games in the women's doubles event, and the runner-up at the Pakistan International tournament.
Du Yue is a Chinese badminton player. She won the silver medal at the 2014 Asian Junior Championships in the girls' doubles event partnered with Li Yinhui. She and Li then made it to the gold medal 2015. Du also claimed the girls' doubles gold in 2016 partnered with Xu Ya and doubled-up the title winning mixed doubles gold with He Jiting. She and He Jiting captured the gold medal at the 2016 World Junior Championships, which in the previous year they won the silver medal. She won her first senior international title at the 2017 China International tournament in the women's doubles event partnered with Xu Ya. Du was the mixed doubles silver medalist at the 2019 Asian Championships, and the women's doubles bronze medalist at the 2019 World Championships.
Yang Li Lian is a Malaysian badminton player. In 2014, she competed at the Badminton at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.
Thilini Pramodika Hendahewa is a Sri Lankan badminton player. She competed at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China, also at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games. Hendahewa was the women' singles champion at the 2014 Sri Lanka national championships. She won her first senior international title at the 2017 Lagos International tournament in the women's singles and doubles event. Together with Kavidi Sirimannage, they claimed the gold medal in the 2019 South Asian Games. She became one of the first two Sri Lankans to win a BWF World Tour tournament, when she won the mixed doubles event alongside Sachin Dias at the 2022 Odisha Open.
Chandrika de Silva also known as Renu Chandrika Hettiarachchige is a Sri Lankan badminton player. She represented her country at the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Kavidi Ishadika Sirimannage is a Sri Lankan badminton player. In 2010, she won the mixed doubles title at the Sri Lanka Air Force Championships with Niluka Karunaratne. In 2015, she was crowned as the champion in the women's doubles, and the runner-up in the singles and mixed doubles. In 2016 she helped the Sri Lankan women's team win a silver medal at the South Asian Games, and also won a bronze in the singles and the mixed doubles event. She won the 2017 Summer Season Championships in the women's doubles event with Thilini Hendahewa, and was the runner-up in the singles. She won her first international title at the Lagos International tournament in the women's doubles event with Hendahewa. She competed at the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan, and at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast.
Konika Rani Adhikary is a Bangladeshi badminton player and national champion. She is part of the Bangladesh National Badminton team and has represented Bangladesh in internationals tournaments.
Norshahliza Baharum is a Malaysian badminton player. Baharum was selected to join the 2004 Uber Cup squad, and the team qualified on merit to the final stage for the first time. The Bukit Jalil Sports School alumni, was the girls' singles champion at the 2004 Asean School Championships, and part of the Malaysia junior team that won the silver medal at the 2005 Asian Junior Championships in the girls' team event after being defeated by the Chinese team in the final. Baharum competed at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. She won the women's doubles title at the 2008 Iran Fajr International tournament with Lim Yin Loo.
Ashmita Chaliha is an Indian badminton player. Born and brought up in Guwahati, she began playing badminton at the age of seven, and trained at the Assam Badminton Academy under Indonesian coach Edwin Iriawan and India’s Suranjan Bhobora, she was also coached by Pullela Gopichand for the asian games. Chaliha was part of the national junior team that competed at the 2017 World and Asian Junior Championships. She has been selected to be part of the Indian team for the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia. Chaliha won her first senior international title at the 2018 Dubai International Challenge in the women's singles event. She was the gold medalists at the 2019 South Asian Games in the women's singles and team events.
