The concept for the film originated from Shantanu Gupta's 2017 book. Following the book's success, Gupta met filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar at a literary event in Noida, where Bhandarkar suggested adapting the book into a film. During the 2020 pandemic lockdown, Gupta collaborated with Priyank Dubey, a film industry associate, to develop the screenplay. In 2022, while attending an event in the United States, Gupta met producers Ajay and Ritu Mangi. Impressed by the project, they established Samrat Cinematics to produce the film.[15]
Production
Principal photography for the film commenced in early 2023 across various locations in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, aiming to authentically depict Yogi Adityanath's journey from his birthplace to his political career. The filmmakers emphasized maintaining factual accuracy and cultural sensitivity throughout the production process.[15]

The teaser for the film was released on March 26, 2025, offering audiences a glimpse into the transformative journey of Yogi Adityanath. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release later in 2025, with plans for distribution in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.[16][17]
