Ajit Singh Kohar was an Indian politician and a member of Shiromani Akali Dal. He was the Minister of Transport,Legal &Legislative Affairs and Elections in the Punjab Government. [1] [2]
Jathedar Ajit Singh Kohar was firstly elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 1997 on an Akali Dal ticket from Lohian by defeating Congress candidate Chaudhary Darshan Singh by more than 27160 votes,a huge margin. Jathedar Ajit Singh Kohar was appointed and held the portfolios of Minister Of Defence Services,Agriculture,Jail in Sardar Parkash Singh Ji Badal Sahab's 3rd Ministry. [3] Jathedar Kohar was re-elected from Lohian in 2002 by defeating former Home Minister Brij Bhupinder Singh Lally Kang by 5144 votes and in 2007 Jathedar Ajit Singh Kohar Sahab successfully contested for a 3rd win from Lohian and defeated Congress candidate Lt. Col. CD Singh Kamboj by 19000 votes,a huge margin. [4] [5] [6] In 2007,he was made Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation. [7] In 2012,Lohian underwent boundary delimitation. Kohar successfully contested from new constituency Shahkot. [8] Currently he is an ex cabinet minister in Punjab and holding portfolios of Transport,Legal &Legislative Affairs and Elections. [1] In 2017 Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections Jathedar Ajit Singh Kohar successfully contested from Shahkot constituency and won for the 5th time. Shiromani Akali Dal Party President Sardar Sukubir Singh Ji Badal appointed Jathedar Kohar as Deputy Leader of opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Jathedar Ajit Singh Kohar Sahab also held the responsibility of the President of the Shiromani Akali Dal District Jalandhar (Rural). He was made President from 1987 till 2018 (31) Years. Jathedar Ajit Singh Kohar held the responsibility of the President of the Shiromani Akali Dal Jalandhar (Rural).
Captain Amarinder Singh,is an Indian politician,military historian,former royal and Indian Army veteran who served as the 15th Chief Minister of Punjab. A former Member of the Legislative Assembly,Punjab and Member of Parliament,Lok Sabha,he was also the president of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. He has also previously served as the Chief Minister of Punjab from 2002 to 2007 and 2017 to 2021. His father was the last Maharaja of the princely state of Patiala. He has also served in the Indian Army from 1963 to 1966. In 1980,he won a seat in the Lok Sabha for the first time. As of November 2022,Singh also serves as the chairman of the Punjab Urdu Academy. Captain Singh resigned as the Chief Minister of Punjab on 18 September 2021. On 19 September 2022 he merged his party PLC with BJP and joined BJP on the same day.
Simranjit Singh Mann is a former Indian Police Service officer and a Member of the Parliament in the Lok Sabha,the lower house of the Parliament of India,representing the constituency of Sangrur since 2022. He is the president of the political party Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar). Mann has served three-times as an MP;once from Taran Tarn between 1989 and 1991,and twice from Sangrur between 1999-2004 and since 2022. He is known as a Khalistani supporter and his party is known for their pro-Khalistan stances.

He is the President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt),which is formed by the merger of Shiromani Akali Dal (Democratic) and Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) led by he and Ranjit Singh Brahampura respectively. Gurnam Singh was an Indian politician and the Chief Minister of Punjab from 8 March 1967 to 25 November 1967,and again between 17 February 1969 to 27 March 1970. He was the first Shiromani Akali Dal Chief minister of Punjab. His ministry fell due to defection of Lachhman Singh Gill,who became the next Chief Minister with the support of the Indian National Congress. He died in an air crash in Delhi on 31 May 1973.

Bikram Singh Majithia is an Indian politician and a former cabinet minister in the Punjab Government. He won 2007 Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections from the Majitha constituency,and again won in 2012 and 2017. He belongs to Shiromani Akali Dal and is president of its Youth Wing,Youth Akali Dal.

He is triumphant in his entire career since 2000.

Jagdev Singh Talwandi was an Indian politician. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1978 as a member of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD),a Sikh-centered regional political party. Talwandi was elected SAD president in 1978 and 1988. He became the President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) in 2000. He was elected to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha thrice in 1967,1969,and 1972,and was inducted as a Minister of State for Development and Animal Husbandry in the Gurnam Singh Ministry and the Minister of State for Jails,Sports and Transport in the Parkash Singh Badal government. He represented Punjab in the Rajya Sabha from 1980 to 1986.
The 1952 Punjab Legislative Assembly election were the First Vidhan Sabha elections of the state when the Indian National Congress emerged as the largest party with 96 seats in the 126-seat legislature in the election. The Shiromani Akali Dal became the official opposition,holding 13 seats.
