Akanksha Puri is an Indian actress and model, who prominently works in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films. Along with few television shows. She is best known for her role as Goddess Parvati in Vighnaharta Ganesh . [1] Puri was a contestant on the reality TV show Bigg Boss OTT Hindi - Season 2 and entered the show in June, 2023 with 12 other contestants [2]

Career

Puri took up modelling projects during her short stint as an international cabin crew member. She was then spotted by Studio Green who bagged her for a role in the 2013 Tamil action comedy Alex Pandian through which she made her first film debut. [3] [4]

She later made her Hindi film debut with Madhur Bhandarkar's 2015 drama film Calendar Girls. [5] [6] In 2017, she was cast as Mata AdiParashakti in Vighnaharta Ganesh TV series. [7]

She is the winner of the show Swayamvar – Mika Di Vohti. [8] In 2023, Akanksha participated in Bigg Boss OTT (Hindi season 2) where she kissed Jad Hadid, [9] [10] which caused a controversy. [11] [12] [13]

Calendar Girls is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and co-produced by Sangeeta Ahir and Bhandarkar Entertainment. Akanksha Puri played the main female lead role. The film's music was composed by Meet Bros Anjjan and Amaal Mallik. The film was released on 25 September 2015. According to Bhandarkar, the story of Calendar Girls is 75% reality and 25% fiction.

Bigg Boss OTT 2 also known as Bigg Boss: Over-The-Top Season 2, was the second season of the Indian reality digital series Bigg Boss OTT which itself is the spin-off version of Bigg Boss. It premiered on 17 June 2023 on JioCinema with Salman Khan as the host for the first time of OTT version. The Grand Finale of the show took place on 14 August 2023 where Elvish Yadav emerged as the winner and Abhishek Malhan emerged as the runner-up.
