Akon Bora is an Indian politician. As a member of the Indian National Congress, he had been elected in Assam Legislative Assembly election in 2006 and 2011 from the Dispur constituency. [1] [2]
Bora was born in Majuli, Assam to Dharmeshwar Bora and Doibaki Bora. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. [1]
He has held the position of General Secretary, APCC from 1986 to 2009, General Secretary of NECCC and as a member of AICC. He is also a patron and advisor in various Bihu Committee, Social Groups, Mandir Committees and Private Organisations. [1]
He married Parul Bora on 3 March 1975. They have a son and a daughter. [1] Bora resided in Seuj Nagar, Beltola in Guwahati. [1]
Tarun Gogoi was an Indian politician and lawyer who served as the 13th Chief Minister of Assam from 2001 to 2016. He was the longest serving Chief Minister of Assam. He was a member of the Indian National Congress. During his tenure as the chief minister, he is credited with ending militant insurgency and mitigating violence in addition to improving the state's fiscal condition.

Bimala Prasad Chaliha was a Leader of Indian National Congress and a Freedom Fighter who was imprisoned at Jorhat Jail in 1942 for active participation in Mahatma Gandhi's Quit India Movement against the British Government.
