Albert Lee (bishop)

Albert William Lee was an Anglican bishop in the mid 20th century.

Lee was ordained in 1901. [1] Following a curacy with the Eton Mission at Hackney Wick, he emigrated to Zululand where he became the Archdeacon of Vryheid in 1928 and then the Bishop of Zululand in 1935, [2] holding the post until 1947. [3]

Anglo-Zulu War British colonial war in 1879

The Anglo-Zulu War was fought in 1879 between the British Empire and the Zulu Kingdom. Following the Constitution Act of 1867 for the federation in Canada, by Lord Carnarvon, it was thought that similar political effort, coupled with military campaigns, might succeed with the African Kingdoms, tribal areas and Boer republics in South Africa. In 1874, Sir Bartle Frere was sent to South Africa as High Commissioner for the British Empire to effect such plans. Eshowe's name is said to be inspired by the sound of wind blowing through the more than 4 km² of the indigenous Dlinza Forest, the most important and striking feature of the town. Richard Cutts (bishop)

Richard Stanley Cutts (1919-1997) was the Anglican Bishop of Argentina and Eastern South America. He acted as Episcopal Commissary for the Falkland Islands, on behalf of the Archbishop of Canterbury, from 1978 until the outbreak of the Falklands War when Episcopal oversight was transferred to the Bishop to the Forces. Cutts was born in 1919 and died in 1997 of a heart attack.
