Aleksandr Lobynya (born 31 May 1985) is a male Russian shot putter. His personal best throw is 21.00 metres, achieved in Adler on 25 May 2011.
Lobynya broke the 20-metre barrier with a 20.09m effort in Bryansk on 27 June [1]
Lobynya produced a massive personal best of 21.00m, becoming the 2nd best Russian, 3rd best European, [2] and the 11th best Outdoor Shot-Putter in the World in 2011, [3] however he was omitted from the Russian National Team for the 2011 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea possibly due to the presence of rival Maksim Sidorov. The shot put is a track and field event involving "putting" (throwing) a heavy spherical ball—the shot—as far as possible. For men, the sport has been a part of the modern Olympics since their revival (1896), and women's competition began in 1948.
Nadzeya Astapchuk is a Belarusian shot putter. She briefly was designated the Olympic Champion in 2012, but was subsequently stripped of the title for failing a drug test and the gold medal was awarded to New Zealand shot putter Valerie Adams. She was World Champion in 2005, but in March 2013, the IAAF reported that her drug test sample from that event had been retested and found to be positive.

Ryan Crouser is an American shot putter and discus thrower. He is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and Olympic record holder. Crouser is the current world record holder in the shot put, both indoor and outdoor. On May 27, 2023, Crouser reset his outdoor world record with a throw of 23.56m bettering his previous world record by 7.48 inches/19 cm. In 2021, at the U.S. Olympic Trials he threw 23.37 m to break Randy Barnes's 31-year-old record of 23.12 m by almost 10 inches (25 cm). Crouser is also a two-time World Champion and the World Championship Record holder in the shot put 23.51m, just 2+1⁄2 in off his world record.
