Colonel General Aleksandr Vasilievich Shlyakhturov (Russian :Алекса́ндрВаси́льевичШляхту́ров,born 14 February 1947) is a Russian military officer.
Shlyakhturov was appointed head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the Russian General Staff,Russia's largest intelligence agency,on 24 April 2009. [1] Prior to this,Shlyakhturov had served as first deputy to the previous head of the organisation,Gen. Valentin Korabelnikov.[ citation needed ] Korabelnikov had apparently tendered his resignation earlier in year due to disagreements over reforms of the organisation. [1] Shlyakhturov resigned as head by end of 2011 due to age limits.
He was replaced by Igor Sergun in December 2011.
The Tatmadaw,also known as Sit-Tat,is the armed forces of Myanmar. It is administered by the Ministry of Defence and composed of the Myanmar Army,the Myanmar Navy and the Myanmar Air Force. Auxiliary services include the Myanmar Police Force,the Border Guard Forces,the Myanmar Coast Guard,and the People's Militia Units. Since independence in 1948,the Tatmadaw has faced significant ethnic insurgencies,especially in Chin,Kachin,Kayin,Kayah,and Shan states. General Ne Win took control of the country in a 1962 coup d'état,attempting to build an autarkic society called the Burmese Way to Socialism. Following the violent repression of nationwide protests in 1988,the military agreed to free elections in 1990,but ignored the resulting victory of the National League for Democracy and imprisoned its leader Aung San Suu Kyi. The 1990s also saw the escalation of the conflict involving Buddhists and Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine State due to RSO attacks on the Tatmadaw forces,which saw the Rohingya minority facing oppression and,starting in 2017,genocide.

Gennady Valeryevich Zhidko was a colonel general of the Russian Armed Forces. He was awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation in 2017 for his service as chief of staff of Russian forces deployed to Syria. Following this assignment,Zhidko commanded the Eastern Military District and headed the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces.
Kyrylo Oleksiiovych Budanov is a Ukrainian military leader who has served as the chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine since August 2020. Budanov previously served as the deputy director of one of the departments of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine. He holds the rank of lieutenant general.
