The Slovenian Armed Forces or Slovenian Army are the armed forces of Slovenia. Since 2003,it is organized as a fully professional standing army. The Commander-in-Chief of the SAF is the President of the Republic of Slovenia,while operational command is in the domain of the Chief of the General Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces.
The Albanian Armed Forces are the military of Albania and were formed after the declaration of independence in 1912. Today,it consists of the General Staff,the Albanian Land Force,Albanian Air Force and the Albanian Naval Force.
Brigadier is a military rank,the seniority of which depends on the country. In some countries,it is a senior rank above colonel,equivalent to a brigadier general or commodore,typically commanding a brigade of several thousand soldiers. In other countries,it is a non-commissioned rank.
Commandant is a title often given to the officer in charge of a military training establishment or academy. This usage is common in English-speaking nations. In some countries it may be a military or police rank. It is also often used to refer to the commander of a military prison or prison camp.
Field Marshal Michael John Dawson Walker,Baron Walker of Aldringham,is a retired British Army officer. Commissioned in 1966,he served in Cyprus,Northern Ireland,and in a variety of staff posts in the United Kingdom until 1984. After being given command of a battalion,he was mentioned in despatches for his service during a second tour of duty in Northern Ireland,this time in Derry,and subsequently served a tour on Gibraltar. He was promoted to brigadier,unusually having never held the rank of colonel,and took command of 20th Armoured Brigade in Germany before becoming I Corps chief of staff.

Nebojša Pavković is a former Serbian army general and convicted war criminal who served as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Yugoslavia from February 2000 to June 2002. He also served as the Commander of Third Army of the Armed Forces of Yugoslavia during the Kosovo War,from December 1998 to February 2000.
A chief of defence is the highest ranked commissioned officer of a nation's armed forces. The acronym CHOD is in common use within NATO and the European Union as a generic term for the highest national military position within the NATO and EU member states,rather than the actual term used for individual positions. Thus,irrespective of the formal national designation of that position is some variation on Commander-in-Chief,Chief of Staff,Supreme Commander,or something else,they can all be referred to unambiguously as CHODs in NATO and EU terminology,although other terms are sometimes also seen within NATO. Thus,the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is the CHOD of the United States,the Chief of the Defence Staff is the CHOD of the United Kingdom,the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr is the CHOD of Germany,and the Chief of Defence (Forsvarssjefen) is the CHOD of Norway.
The Kosovo Security Force (KSF) is the military of Kosovo. The KSF is tasked with defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kosovo,military support for civilian authorities,and participation in international peacekeeping missions and operations. Since 2018,it is in the process of transforming into the Kosovo Armed Forces.
Volker Wieker is the former Chief of Staff of the Bundeswehr,the German armed forces,and a general of the German Army. Trained as an artillery officer,Wieker served in every major foreign Bundeswehr deployment since 1996,including Bosnia,Kosovo and Afghanistan.
The recent history of changes in women's roles includes having women in the military. Every country in the world permits the participation of women in the military,in one form or another. In 2018,only two countries conscripted women and men on the same formal conditions:Norway and Sweden. A few other countries have laws conscripting women into their armed forces,however with some difference such as service exemptions,length of service,and more. Some countries do not have conscription,but men and women may serve on a voluntary basis under equal conditions. Alenka Ermenc was the first female head of armed forces in any of the NATO member states,having served as the Chief of the General Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces between 2018 and 2020.
The Chief of the General Staff is the Chief of the General Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces. That person is appointed by the Government of Slovenia,after his/her nomination by the Minister of Defence. The current Chief of the General Staff is Major general Robert Glavaš.

Major General Anders Karl Oskar Brännström is a retired Swedish Army officer. He has served in Cyprus,Kosovo and Afghanistan and been commanding officer of Jämtland Ranger Regiment. Brännström's senior appointments include Deputy Chief of Joint Operations from 2008 to 2012 and Chief of Army from 2013 to 2016. He served as head of Exercise Viking 2018 and then as head of the Total Defence Department of the Joint Staff until 26 January 2018 when he was fired from the position due to critical statements about Sweden's lack of defense ability.
General Leif Michael Claesson is a Swedish Army officer. He currently serves as the Chief of Defence since 1 October 2024. Claesson began his military career in 1984 as a tank commander. He advanced through various positions,including instructor and company commander,while completing education at military institutions in Sweden and Germany. By 2001,he became a lieutenant colonel,serving in both national and international roles,including as a military adviser and representative to NATO and the EU. Promoted to brigadier general in 2013,Claesson held key leadership roles,such as commanding the Swedish ISAF contingent in Afghanistan and overseeing Nordic Battlegroup training. In 2018,he became a major general and Chief of Policy and Plans Department,later serving as Chief of Joint Operations and Commandant General in Stockholm in 2020. Promoted to lieutenant general,he became Chief of the Defence Staff in 2023. Finally,in 2024,he was appointed general and Chief of Defence,assuming the role on 1 October 2024.
Major General Alan Geder is a military leader of Slovenia who served as a commander during the Slovenian War for Independence and acted as Chief of the General Staff in 2018.

Robert Glavaš is a Slovenian Armed Forces Lieutenant General who has served as Chairman of the General Staff since April 2020. Prior to his appointment,Glavašserved as commander of the 1st Brigade of the Slovenian Armed Forces. He also commanded Slovenian forces in Afghanistan and held other commanding posts within the armed forces.
