Alevtina Biktimirova (born September 10, 1982) is a Russian long-distance runner, who specialises in the marathon.
Alevtina placed first in the women's division in the Eurocity Frankfurt Marathon in October 2005. She finished sixth in the 2006 Boston Marathon and was the youngest person in the elite field. She also finished sixth in the 2006 European Athletics Championships that year in Gothenburg.
Alevtina finished second in the 2008 Boston Marathon with a time of 2:25:27, and second in the 2008 Chicago Marathon with a time of 2:29:32. She finished ninth in the 2009 World Championships in Athletics. She won the Tokyo Marathon at the start of the 2010 season. [1]

Catherine Nyambura Ndereba is a retired Kenyan marathon runner. Between 2003 and 2008, she finished in the top two in five successive global championship marathons. Ndereba has twice won the marathon at the World Championships in Athletics and won silver medals at the Summer Olympic Games in 2004 and 2008, becoming Kenya's first female multi-medalist. She is also a four-time winner of the Boston Marathon and a two-time winner of the Chicago Marathon. It was at the latter in 2001 that she broke the women's marathon world record with a time of 2:18:47.
Eliud Kipchoge is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in the marathon and formerly specialized in the 5000 metres. Kipchoge is the 2016 and 2020 Olympic marathon champion, and was the world record holder in the marathon from 2018 to 2023, until that record was broken by Kelvin Kiptum at the 2023 Chicago Marathon. Kipchoge has run 3 of the 10 fastest marathons in history.

Madaí Pérez Carrillo is a Mexican long-distance runner. She represented Mexico in the marathon at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics.
Sabrina Mockenhaupt is a German long-distance runner who specialises in track events and the marathon. She is a two-time winner of the Cologne Marathon and has also won the Frankfurt Marathon and the Berlin Half Marathon. She represented Germany at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics and was the 3000 metres bronze medallist at the 2005 European Indoor Championships. She has a marathon best of 2:26:21, set at the 2010 Berlin Marathon.

The 2010 Tokyo Marathon was the fourth edition of the annual marathon race in Tokyo, Japan and was held on Sunday, 28 February. The men's race was won by home athlete Masakazu Fujiwara in a time of 2:12:19, while the women's race was won by Russia's Alevtina Biktimirova in 2:34:39.
