Alexandru Popescu (born 12 October 1935) is a Romanian former butterfly swimmer. He competed at the 1956 Summer Olympics and the 1960 Summer Olympics. [1]

Florin Popescu is a Romanian canoe sprinter who competed from the mid-1990s to 2005. Competing in two Summer Olympics, he won two Olympic medals at Sydney in 2000 with teammate Mitică Pricop. He won a total of seven world championship gold medals as well as seven European championship golds, making him the most successful Romanian paddler of modern times.
Romania competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics, held in Beijing, China from August 8 to August 24, 2008. Romania intended to send 104 competitors to Beijing, although the delegation was reduced to 102 when two Romanian athletes were suspended for doping before the start of the Olympics. The Romanian delegation for Beijing was the smallest Romanian Olympic delegation since the 1989 Revolution. Laura Gabriela Badea-Cârlescu is a retired Romanian foil fencer, world champion in 1995, olympic champion in 1996 and european champion in 1996,1997, 2004. After her retirement she became a fencing coach, then a sport administrator with numerous roles. She served as President of the Athletes Commission (2001-2005) for the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, Member of the Rules Commission of the International Fencing Federation, Director of Olympic Education of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee (2005-2012), Director of Romanian Olympic Academy(2011-2017), Romanian Ambassador for Sports, Tolerance and Fair-Play at the Council of Europe (2004-2011), Member of the Science and Sports Council in Romania (2006-2009), Member of the Romanian Anti-Doping Agency, Vice-President of the Romanian Fencing Federation (2005-2011), President of the Romanian Fencing Federation (2017-2018), Member of the Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission at the European Olympic Committee, Member of the Executive Committee at the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee.
Dimitrie Popescu was a Romanian rower. He competed in various events at the 1984, 1988, 1992 and 1996 Olympics and won one gold, two silver and one bronze medal. He won the same set of medals at the world championships in 1985–1996. After retiring from competition he worked as a coach for CSA Steaua. Popescu died in Bușteni on 11 November 2023, at the age of 62.
Alexandru Chiculiță is a retired Romanian sabre fencer. He competed at the 1984 and 1992 Olympics and won a team bronze medal in 1984. After retiring from competitions he worked as a fencing coach, and currently trains the sabre team of CS Dinamo București.
Alexandru Andrei Ghiban is a Romanian water polo player. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed for the Romania men's national water polo team in the men's event. He is 6 ft 5 inches tall.
Bianca Alexandru Pascu is a Romanian sabre fencer. She represented Romania at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where she competed in the women's individual sabre event.
