Ali Sa'ad Birnin-Kudu is a Muslim barrister and former governor of Jigawa State,northern Nigeria. [1] He was a member of the now-defunct Social Democratic Party and served as governor from January 1992 until November 1993.
Jigawa State is one of the 36 states of Nigeria,located in the northern region of the country. Created on 27 August 1991,under the General Ibrahim Babangida administration who announced the creation of nine additional states in the country bringing the total number of states then to thirty. The announcement was given a legal backing through the;State Creation and Transitional Provisions Decree No. 37 of 1991. Jigawa State was a part of Kano State and was located in the northeastern-most region of Kano State,and it forms part of Nigeria's national border with the Republic of Niger. The state capital and largest city is Dutse. Jigawa state has 27 local governments
Dutse is the capital city of Jigawa State in northern Nigeria,and also the capital of Dutse Emirate. It is a home to Federal University,Dutse established in November 2011. In addition to the Federal University Dutse,there is also a Research Institute for Date Palm (Sub-Station) and state polytechnic in Dutse. The Jigawa State Polytechnic has its College of Business and Management Studies at Dutse.
Birnin Kudu is a town and a Local Government Area in the south of Jigawa State,Nigeria,some 120 kilometres south-east of Kano. As of 2006 the town of Birnin Kudu had an estimated population of 419,800 and is the most populous local government in the state.

Furthermore,he was also the chairman on the board of four other construction companies at the time,thus,making him one of the youngest multi millionaires in Northern Nigeria at the time. In addition to this,he was a lawyer and had served as a chief registrar at the Chief Magistrate's Court in Kano. He was also a member of the Constituent Assembly and,up to his time,one of Jigawa's few billionaires. Bello Maitama set up the stage for all politicians and businessmen in Nigeria.
Dahiru Babura Musdapher was a Nigerian jurist who served as the 12th chief justice of Nigeria from 2011 to 2012. He served as the attorney-general and commissioner of justice of Kaduna State from 1976 to 1979,and as the chief judge of Kano State from 1979 to 1985. Musdapher was a justice of the Nigerian Court of Appeal from 1985 to 2003 and of the Nigerian Supreme Court from 2003 to 2012.

The 2023 Jigawa State gubernatorial election took place on 18 March 2023,to elect the Governor of Jigawa State,concurrent with elections to the Jigawa State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—was later scheduled to hold three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.
