Alice Practice is the debut EP from Crystal Castles, released on Merok Records on 9 July 2006. The release was limited to 500 copies on 7" vinyl and sold out in three days.
The cover of the EP features artwork by Trevor Brown of Madonna with a black eye. Brown sued the band, claiming that they had used his work without permission. [2] In 2008, Brown and the band came to a settlement in which he was paid for the rights to the image. [2]
The title track, "Alice Practice", was claimed to be a soundcheck secretly recorded by the sound engineer before the band launched into a five-song recording session in 2005. [3] [4] This story has since been denied by Alice Glass, who claimed that Ethan Kath fictionalised the story to minimise her input into the band. [5] [6] Crystal Castles later performed "Alice Practice" on an episode of the British television series Skins . After being featured on the show, demand for the Alice Practice EP grew rapidly. [7] In October 2011, NME rated the song number 29 on its list of "150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years". [8]
The track "Air War" garnered attention from prominent indie website Pitchfork Media. The track "Dolls" is exclusive to the Alice Practice EP and is not available on any other official release.
EP is the third release from the U.S. indie rock band The Fiery Furnaces. It is 41 minutes in length, and is arguably not an EP, but rather a short LP, and thus a proper album.
"Rebellion (Lies)" is a song by Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire. It was the fourth single released from the band's debut album, Funeral. The single was released in both CD and DVD formats with the song "Brazil" as the B-side. The single peaked at number 19 on the UK singles chart, the band's best performance on this chart to date. On the album Funeral, "Rebellion (Lies)" immediately follows the song "Haiti", the ending of which has the same bass beat and leads right into the beginning of "Rebellion (Lies)". The song has enduringly been the band's closing song at appearances at music festivals and at the end of most of their shows. In October 2011, British pop singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor released a cover in support of Songs to Save a Life, a benefit project in aid of Samaritans.
Crystal Castles was a Canadian electronic music group formed in 2006 in Toronto, Ontario, formed by songwriter-producer Ethan Kath and singer-songwriter Alice Glass, who later left and was replaced by Edith Frances. Crystal Castles were known for their chaotic live shows and lo-fi melancholic homemade productions. They released many limited vinyl singles between 2006 and 2007 before releasing four studio albums between 2008 and 2016.
Crystal Castles is the debut studio album by Canadian electronic music duo Crystal Castles; at the time of its release, the group consisted of producer Ethan Kath and singer Alice Glass. The two met each other in 2004 and both had an interest in noise acts like AIDS Wolf & The Sick Lipstick. This inspired the two to start a project that made noise music, but instead of guitars, they would use electronic sounds made with a circuit-bent Atari 5200–which effectively led to the media pigeonholing the act as chiptune, despite the fact that the members themselves didn't deliberately intend this.
"L.E.S. Artistes" is the second single by American artist Santigold, and along with "Creator", the first to be taken from her self-titled debut Santogold.

Doe Deer is a song from Toronto-based band, Crystal Castles, released on their second self-titled album, Crystal Castles. The release was limited to 500 copies on 12" vinyl. The EP was a special release for UK's record store day. Prior to the release, Doe Deer was played on UK's Radio 1, and rips began to circulate around the internet. The 12" gained special attention because three unreleased tracks from 2004 were featured as B-sides to the lead track. The song was featured in the episode "Nick" of Season 5 of Skins.
