East Carolina University (ECU) is a public university in Greenville,North Carolina,United States. It is the fourth largest university in North Carolina and the only one in the state with schools of medicine,dentistry and engineering.

The airport manager is Kim W. Hopper.

The North Carolina Global TransPark (GTP) is a 2,500 acre,multi-modal industrial/airport site in Eastern North Carolina. As an agency of the State of North Carolina,the GTP is considered a key engine for driving the economy of Eastern North Carolina. The park offers access to multi-modal transportation options:air,rail,highways,and North Carolina's two international ports. The GTP is part of an economic development initiative in eastern North Carolina intended to spur transition in the region from an agricultural base to one of skilled labor and industrial manufacturing. Industries targeted by the GTP are aerospace,defense and logistics sectors.

North Carolina Highway 148 (NC 148),also known as the C.F. Harvey Parkway,is a 13.2-mile (21.2 km) east–west state highway that connects US 70 to NC 11 in Lenoir County. The route is completely located within Lenoir County and runs near the NC Global TransPark and Kinston Regional Jetport,serving as a bypass of Kinston. The entire route is a four-lane rural expressway,with a maximum speed limit of 65 miles per hour (105 km/h). The highway is named after entrepreneur,businessman,and banker C. Felix Harvey III (1920-2014),who was born and raised in Kinston.

Interstate 587 (I-587) is a 37.07-mile (59.66 km) auxiliary Interstate Highway in the US state of North Carolina. The western terminus of the highway is at I-95,I-795,and US Highway 264 (US 264) near Wilson. The highway runs concurrently with I-795 and US 264 around the southern side of Wilson. I-795 diverges toward Goldsboro 4.4 miles (7.1 km) east of I-95. The eastern end of the US 264 overlap is located northwest of Saratoga. I-587 continues travelling east,bypassing Saratoga and Farmville to the north. The eastern terminus of I-587 is located at US 264 and North Carolina Highway 11 Bypass in western Greenville. I-587 is a spur of the North Carolina segment of I-87 which runs from Raleigh to Wendell. As of 2024,I-587 does not connect with its parent route.
