Alliance Academy International (AAI) is a private, coeducational international school in Quito, Ecuador, serving students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Founded in 1929 to provide an American-style education for families affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance, the school now operates as an independent institution offering instruction in English within a Christian educational framework. Its academic program is based on the United States educational system and serves both Ecuadorian and international students.
AAI has been accredited since 1966 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). The school is also a member of the Association of American Schools in South America and the Southern Association of Independent Schools. [1]
AAI is a charter member of the Council of Educational Standards & Accountability (CESA). [2]
The school is certified by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education, enabling graduates to receive both Ecuadorian and United States high school diplomas. [3]

AAI enrolls 570 students in Pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, coming from over thirty nations in Asia, Europe and the Americas. There are 160 staff members, including 85 licensed and certified teachers, many with advanced degrees, working at the Alliance Academy International. [4]
There are weekly chapel services for students. The secondary students have chapels that feature a student praise band and speakers, while the elementary students have age-level chapels. Both the Elementary and Secondary Divisions have their own dedicated chaplain.
The Academy runs a Student Government based on democracy, with its key members petitioning to meet the student body's needs and improve the school campus. Students are able to participate in the government from seventh grade and up, with seniors taking the most important roles. The student council's goal is not only to be leaders, but to be servant leaders that show Christian attributes. Ranking their participants is required to participate in meetings every week during lunch and make themselves available to lead through service to others.
