Almost Heathen is the third studio album by the stoner rock band Karma to Burn. It was released on September 4, 2001, by Spitfire Records. [1] It was the last album released before their seven-year disbandment in 2002. The album was reissued in 2008 by Metal Mind Productions [2] and again in 2022 by Heavy Psych Sounds Records. [3]

Contents

The album title is a play on the former slogan of West Virginia, "Almost Heaven".

Exclaim! wrote that "you either get the fact that they are an all-instrumental trio playing groovy, fuzzed-out rock or you don't ... the trio breaks down into more funky terrain." [8] The Evening Times thought that "the listener is assailed by driving tracks of musical virtuosity where the guitars are to the fore." [1] The Palm Beach Post called the tracks "hypnotic" and "a heavy blend of fuzzy guitars and relentless drums." [9]

Ché was an American stoner rock band founded by former Kyuss drummers Brant Bjork and Alfredo Hernández, and former Unida bassist Dave Dinsmore. Ché released their only album, Sounds of Liberation, in 2000.

He currently resides in the Laurel Canyon area of Los Angeles with the rest of his band mates.

The Gathering is the eighth studio album by American thrash metal band Testament, released on June 8, 1999. It was the first release the band had done with Spitfire Records. Co-produced by band members, Chuck Billy and Eric Peterson, this was the first album featuring new musicians Steve DiGiorgio on bass guitar and Dave Lombardo on drums. Billy, Peterson and Lombardo, along with longtime Testament collaborator Del James, are also given composer credits on the album. William Charles Mecum was an American musician and lead guitarist for the rock band Karma to Burn (K2B). During K2B's seven-year hiatus from 2002–2009, he played guitar for instrumental bands Treasure Cat and Dragon Ass. He also played drums in the band Admiral prior to forming Karma to Burn. He lived in West Virginia. Mecum died on April 29, 2021, as a result of a traumatic head injury, from an accidental fall. As of the time of his death, he was the last remaining founding member in the lineup of the band.
