The Alrov Group is a real estate development company headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel. [1] It is listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.

History

The company was founded in 1978 [1] by Alfred Akirov, who holds the title of chairman. Its co-Chief Executive Officers are Shmuel Ben Moshe and Meir Alhacham. [1]

Mamilla Project

In 1995 Alrov purchased the Mamilla Project in the center of Jerusalem and finished the building of the David Village project and the hotel Hilton Jerusalem, that later changed its name to David Citadel Hotel.

The construction and development stopped a few times due to archeological research and legal affairs but resumed in 2006.

In 2007, a part of the Alrov Boulevard (the historic Mamilla street) and the Alrov mall opened. In 2009 Mamilla Hotel was opened and in 2010 the project was completed.

Hotels

The group owns the David Citadel Hotel and the Mamilla Hotel (near the Mamilla Mall), both of which are in Jerusalem, Israel. [2] It acquired the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam and the Café Royal in London in 2008. [3] In 2010, it acquired the Hôtel Lutetia in Paris. [2]

Azrieli Center is a complex of skyscrapers in Tel Aviv. At the base of the center lies a large shopping mall. The center was originally designed by Israeli-American architect Eli Attia, and after he fell out with the developer of the center David Azrieli, completion of the design was passed on to the Tel Aviv firm of Moore Yaski Sivan Architects.

Mamilla is a neighbourhood of Jerusalem that was established in the late 19th century outside the Old City, west of the Jaffa Gate. Until 1948 it was a mixed Jewish-Arab business district. Between 1948 and 1967, it was located along the armistice line between the Israeli and Jordanian-held sector of the city, and many buildings were destroyed by Jordanian shelling. The Israeli government approved an urban renewal project for Mamilla, apportioning land for residential and commercial zones, including hotels and office space. The Mamilla Mall opened in 2007.

The Tel Aviv–Jerusalem railway is a railway line in Israel connecting the city of Tel Aviv with Jerusalem. The line serves as the main rail link between the two cities, complementing the old Jaffa–Jerusalem railway. As such, the railway is often referred to in Israel as the high-speed railway to Jerusalem to distinguish it from the older, longer and slower line. In spite of that name, the line is not high-speed under the definition used by the International Union of Railways: both its design speed of 200 km/h (125 mph) and its current operational speed of 160 km/h (100 mph) are below the 250 km/h (155 mph) threshold used by the UIC to define high-speed railways, and it is traversed by IR's regular rolling stock instead of the UIC requirement for specially-designed high-speed trains.

Mamilla Mall, also called Alrov Mamilla Avenue, is an upscale shopping street and the only open-air mall in West Jerusalem. Located northwest of Jaffa Gate, the mall consists of a 2,000-foot (610 m) pedestrian promenade called Alrov Mamilla Avenue lined by 140 stores, restaurants, and cafes, and office space on upper floors. It sits atop a multi-story parking garage for 1,600 cars and buses, and a bus terminal. Designed by Moshe Safdie and developed by Alrov Properties and Lodgings Ltd. of Tel Aviv, the mall incorporates the facades of 19th-century buildings from the original Mamilla Street, as well as the original structures of the Convent of St. Vincent de Paul, the Stern House, and the Clark House.

Ramat Aviv Mall is an upscale shopping mall at 40 Einstein Street, in Ramat Aviv, Tel Aviv. At a rent of $1,804 per square meter, it is Israel's most expensive mall and the 35th most expensive mall in the world. It houses many renowned international fashion brands including Louis Vuitton, Emporio Armani, Montblanc, H. Stern, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Tumi, Longchamp, Tag heuer, Ralph Lauren, Carolina Herrera, Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Rolex, Nespresso, Hugo Boss and many others. Its gross leasable area is 17,800 square meters and it has 140 stores in two retail floors. Above the shopping is an office building called Ramat Aviv Mall Tower. The entire project—tower and mall—has a gross area of about 80,900 square meters. The mall is valued at 1.699 billion shekels, or 470 million dollars.
