Alton Gold Keel Jr. (born September 15,1943) is an American engineer,government official,diplomat,and businessman.
Keel attended the University of Virginia,where he earned a bachelor of science in aerospace engineering in 1966 and a Ph.D. in 1970. He performed weapons research at the Naval Surface Weapons Center,and then joined the staff of the United States Senate,where he was a Congressional science fellow (1976–78) and a staff member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (1978–81). He then served as Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Acquisition) (1981–82) and Associate Director of the Office of Management and Budget (1982–86). In 1986,he was appointed Executive Director of the Rogers Commission that investigated the Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster.
In July 1986,President Ronald Reagan appointed Keel as the acting principal deputy to the National Security Advisor. From 1987-89,Keel was the United States Permanent Representative to NATO.
Keel has held various positions in corporate governance,and as of 2007 was president and managing director of Atlantic Partners LLC,a private investment-banking group.
James Logan Jones Jr. is a retired United States Marine Corps four-star general and consultant who served as the 21st United States National Security Advisor from 2009 to 2010. During his military career,he served as the 32nd Commandant of the Marine Corps from July 1999 to January 2003,and Commander,United States European Command and Supreme Allied Commander Europe from 2003 to 2006. Jones retired from the Marine Corps on February 1,2007,after 40 years of service.
The Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs (APNSA),commonly referred to as the National Security Advisor (NSA),is a senior aide in the Executive Office of the President,based at the West Wing of the White House. The national security advisor serves as the principal advisor to the President of the United States on all national security issues. The national security advisor participates in meetings of the National Security Council (NSC) and usually chairs meetings of the Principals Committee of the NSC with the Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense. The NSA also sits on the Homeland Security Council (HSC). The national security advisor is supported by NSC staff who produce classified research and briefings for the national security advisor to review and present,either to the NSC or the president. The national security advisor is appointed by the president and does not require confirmation by the United States Senate. An appointment of a three- or four-star general to the role requires Senate confirmation to maintain that rank in the new position.
Lew Allen Jr. was a United States Air Force four-star general who served as the tenth Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force. As chief of staff,Allen served as the senior uniformed Air Force officer responsible for the organization,training,and equipping of 750,000 active duty Air Force,Air National Guard,Air Force Reserve,and civilian personnel serving in the United States and overseas. As a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,he and the other service chiefs function(ed) as the military advisers to the Secretary of Defense,the National Security Council,and the president.
Stephen Anthony Cambone was the first United States Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence,a post created in March 2003. Cambone first came to the attention of the public at large during the testimony of Major General Antonio Taguba before the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee,where he disputed the General's statement that prison guards were under the effective control of military intelligence personnel and interrogators. Cambone resigned at the beginning of 2007 and was replaced by James R. Clapper,Jr.,former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Cambone was associated with the Project for the New American Century,participating in the study which resulted in the writing of the report Rebuilding America's Defenses.

Bush during the second term of his administration. Hadley was Deputy National Security Advisor during Bush's first term.

Charles Quinton Brown Jr. is a United States Air Force general who has served as the 21st chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff since October 1,2023. Prior to his appointment,Brown served as the 22nd chief of staff of the Air Force from 2020 to 2023. Ricky Lynn Waddell is a retired lieutenant general in the United States Army Reserve who served as a Deputy National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump from 2017 to 2018 and as the Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2018 to 2021. His promotion to lieutenant general was authorized by the United States Senate on 26 September 2019. He retired from active military service in October 2021.
