James Logan Jones Jr. is a retired United States Marine Corps four-star general and consultant who served as the 21st United States National Security Advisor from 2009 to 2010. During his military career,he served as the 32nd Commandant of the Marine Corps from July 1999 to January 2003,and Commander,United States European Command and Supreme Allied Commander Europe from 2003 to 2006. Jones retired from the Marine Corps on February 1,2007,after 40 years of service.
The Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs (APNSA),commonly referred to as the National Security Advisor (NSA),is a senior aide in the Executive Office of the President,based at the West Wing of the White House. The national security advisor serves as the principal advisor to the President of the United States on all national security issues. The national security advisor participates in meetings of the National Security Council (NSC) and usually chairs meetings of the Principals Committee of the NSC with the Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense. The NSA also sits on the Homeland Security Council (HSC). The national security advisor is supported by NSC staff who produce classified research and briefings for the national security advisor to review and present,either to the NSC or the president. The national security advisor is appointed by the president and does not require confirmation by the United States Senate. An appointment of a three- or four-star general to the role requires Senate confirmation to maintain that rank in the new position.

As chief of staff,Allen served as the senior uniformed Air Force officer responsible for the organization,training,and equipping of 750,000 active duty Air Force,Air National Guard,Air Force Reserve,and civilian personnel serving in the United States and overseas. Stephen Anthony Cambone was the first United States Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence,a post created in March 2003. He has commanded the Pacific Air Forces,U.S. Air Forces Central Command,31st Fighter Wing,8th Fighter Wing,U.S. Air Force Weapons School,and 78th Fighter Squadron. He has also served as deputy commander of the U.S. Central Command.

In this capacity,he was the nation's second-highest-ranking military officer,and the highest-ranking officer in the Air Force. He assumed his last assignment on July 31,2015,and retired on August 1,2019. Selva is a command pilot with more than 3,100 hours in the C-5,C-17A,C-141B,C-37,KC-10,KC-135A and T-37.
Ricky Lynn Waddell is a retired lieutenant general in the United States Army Reserve who served as a Deputy National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump from 2017 to 2018 and as the Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2018 to 2021. His promotion to lieutenant general was authorized by the United States Senate on 26 September 2019. He retired from active military service in October 2021.

Raised in Sparks,Nevada,he graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in International Affairs and was commissioned in 1985. He assumed his capstone assignment on May 1,2019.
