Ambra Esposito (born 12 September 1996) is an Italian swimmer. She is the 2013 Mediterranean and 2014 Youth Olympic champion in the 200-metre backstroke.

Career

At the 2012 European Junior Championships, Esposito won a bronze medal in the 100-metre backstroke behind Mie Nielsen and Jessica Fullalove, and she also won the bronze in the 200-metre backstroke behind Iuliia Larina and Iryna Hlavnyk. [2] Esposito won the 200-metre backstroke event at the 2013 Mediterranean Games ahead of her teammate Margherita Panziera. [3]

Esposito competed in three events at the 2014 Youth Olympics- 50-metre, 100-metre, and 200-metre backstroke. [4] In the 50-metre backstroke, she placed 29th in the heats and did not qualify for the semifinals. After finishing 6th in the heats and the semifinals, she qualified to the finals of the 100-metre backstroke where she finished 8th. In the 200-metre backstroke, Esposito tied for the gold medal with Hannah Moore with a time of 2:10.42. [5] She then competed at the 2014 FINA World Championships. In the 100-metre backstroke, she finished 51st in the heats, [6] and in the 200-metre backstroke, she finished 35th in the heats. [7]

Luke Greenbank is an English professional swimmer who specialises in backstroke. He won a silver medal as lead-off for Great Britain in the 4 x 100 metre medley relay for men at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He won a gold medal as lead-off for England in the heats of the 4 x 100 metre medley relay for men at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Travis Mahoney is an Australian medley and backstroke swimmer. Winner of two relay medals at the 2012 World Short Course Championships, he is also part of the quartet that broke the world record in the short course mixed 4 × 50 metres freestyle relay. In 2016, he qualified for his first Olympic Games.

Shaine Casas is an American professional swimmer. He was national champion in the 100-meter backstroke at the 2019 National Championships and the 100-meter butterfly and 200-meter individual medley at the 2022 National Championships. In 2021 he was a three-time NCAA champion, once in the 100-yard backstroke, once in the 200-yard backstroke, and once in the 200-yard individual medley. At the 2021 World Short Course Championships he won a gold medal in the 100-meter backstroke and the 4×50-meter medley relay, a silver medal in the 200-meter backstroke, the 4×100-meter medley relay, and the 4×50-meter mixed medley relay, and a bronze medal as part of the 4×100-meter freestyle relay. Michele Lamberti is a competitive Italian swimmer. He is a world record holder in the short course 4×50-metre medley relay. He also currently holds the Italian record in the short course 50-metre backstroke. At the 2021 European Short Course Championships he won a gold medal and set a world record in the 4×50-metre medley relay, won three silver medals, one in the 50-metre backstroke, one in the 100-metre butterfly, and one in the 4×50-metre mixed medley relay, and won a bronze medal in the 200-metre backstroke. At the 2021 World Short Course Championships he won two bronze medals in relay events, swimming in the prelims heats for each relay.

Lorenzo Mora is a competitive Italian swimmer. He is an Italian record holder in the short course 200 metre backstroke and 4×100 metre medley relay. At the 2021 European Short Course Championships he won the silver medal in the 200 metre backstroke in Italian record time and won a gold medal as part of the 4x50 metre medley relay. He won a gold medal in the 4×100 metre medley relay, a silver medal in the 50 metre backstroke, and bronze medals in the 4×50 metre mixed medley relay and 4×50 metre medley relay at the 2021 World Short Course Championships. He won a gold medal in the 4×100 metre medley relay, swimming backstroke in the final, the gold medal in the 200 metre backstroke, the silver medal in the 100 metre backstroke and the bronze medal in the 50 metre backstroke at the 2022 Mediterranean Games.

Analia Pigrée is a French Guianese swimmer who competes internationally representing France. She is the French record holder in the 50 metre backstroke, in both long course and short course, and the short course 100 metre backstroke. At the 2021 European Short Course Championships she won a silver medal in the 50 metre backstroke and a bronze medal in the 100 metre backstroke. She won the bronze medal in the 50 metre backstroke at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships. She is the 2022 European champion in the 50 metre backstroke.

Roos Vanotterdijk is a Belgian competitive swimmer. She is the Belgian record holder in the long course 100 metre butterfly, 50 metre backstroke, and 100 metre backstroke, as well as the short course 50 metre backstroke and 100 metre individual medley. She is a six-time medalist in individual events at the European Junior Swimming Championships and medalist at the European Youth Olympic Festival.

Dóra Molnár is a Hungarian competitive swimmer. Competing at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships when she was 15 years old, she placed seventh in the 200-metre backstroke, fifth in the 4×200-metre freestyle relay, and eighth in the 4×100-metre freestyle relay. At the 2022 European Junior Swimming Championships, she won gold medals in the 100-metre backstroke, 200-metre backstroke, 4×200-metre freestyle relay, and 4×100-metre mixed freestyle relay and silver medals in the 100-metre freestyle and 4×100-metre medley relay. She is the 2022 European Aquatics Championships bronze medalist in the 200-metre backstroke. She won four gold medals, in the 100-metre backstroke, 4×100-metre freestyle relay, 4×200-metre freestyle relay, and the 4×100-metre mixed freestyle relay, as well as one silver medal, in the 200-metre backstroke, at the 2022 World Junior Championships.
