Bai Anqi (born 9 January 1993; Chinese :白安琪) is a Chinese backstroke swimmer. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics, [1] where she did not qualify for the semifinals, after finishing in seventeenth position in the qualifiers, with a time of 2:11:26, the sixth-fastest in her heat of the 200 m backstroke.
Bai Anqi was born on 9 January 1993 in Anji, [2] Zhejiang, in the east of the People's Republic of China. [1] She was born as Chinese :白 安琪. [2] Her nickname is "White Angel" as what her name translates to when translated to English. [1] Bai's hobbies include listening to music and going on the internet. The only language she speaks is Chinese, and she is currently[ when? ] a student. Bai is 164 centimetres (65 inches) tall and weighs 59 kilograms (130 pounds). [1]
Bai is coached by Shi Xiaoming and Xu Guoyi in swimming. She currently swims in the Zhejiang Province Swimming Team, and swims backstroke. She swims in the women's 200m backstroke event in swimming. [3] She did not qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympics held in London, after finishing in nineteenth position in the qualifiers, with a time of 2:11.26. She was three positions away from qualifying for the 200m backstroke event at the London Olympic Games, but, reached the highest position for a Chinese swimmer in the qualifiers of this event. It took her 31.02 seconds to reach the 50 metre mark, 1:04.51 to reach the one hundred metre mark, 1 minute 37.88 seconds to reach the 150 mark, then 2:11:26 to finish the qualifiers. [4] In the qualifying heats, she was sixth position in her heat, but could not qualify. [5] Her reaction time in the qualifying heat was 0.54 seconds. [2]

Liam John Tancock is an English former competitive swimmer who represented Great Britain in the Olympics, FINA world championships, and European championships, and England in the Commonwealth Games. He is a three-time world champion and a four-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist, and held the world record in the 50-metre backstroke for almost a decade.
Elizabeth Lyon Beisel is an American competition swimmer who specializes in backstroke and individual medley events. She has won a total of nine medals in major international competition, four gold, one silver, and four bronze spanning the Olympics, World Aquatics, and the Pan Pacific championships. Beisel competed in the 200-meter backstroke and 400-meter individual medley events at the 2008 Summer Olympics, placing fifth and fourth, respectively, in the world. She won the silver medal in the 400-meter individual medley and bronze in the 200-meter backstroke at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She also finished sixth in the 400-meter individual medley at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The Cayman Islands sent a delegation to compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The delegation included fifteen people; of the delegation, four athletes participated under the Caymanian flag. In the track and field events was Ronald Forbes, who also served as the Cayman Islands' flag-bearer during the Opening Ceremony and reached quarterfinals in the 110m hurdles, and Cydonie Mothersille, who reached finals and ranked eighth in the 200m dash. Brothers Shaune and Brett Fraser, both swimmers, participated in the 100 and 200m freestyle and in the 200m backstroke, respectively. The Cayman Islands' appearance at the Beijing Olympics marked its ninth appearance since its debut at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. Pedro Diogo Tavares Martins de Oliveira is a Portuguese swimmer, who specialized in backstroke and butterfly events. He is a two-time Olympian, and a double silver medalist in the 200 m backstroke at the European Junior Championships. He also holds four Portuguese records, two national titles, and has produced a stellar performance at the NCAA Swimming Championships, earning five All-American titles as a member of Louisville Cardinals.
Melissa Franklin Johnson is an American former competitive swimmer and five-time Olympic gold medalist. She held the world record in the 200-meter backstroke from 2012 to 2019. As a member of the U.S. national swim team, she also held the world records in the 4×100-meter medley relay.
Ye Shiwen is a Chinese swimmer. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she won gold medals in the 400 metres and 200 metres individual medley, breaking the world record in the 400 m event and the Olympic record in the 200 m event.
Choi Hye-Ra is a South Korean swimmer, who specialized in butterfly and individual medley events. She collected four medals in the 200 m butterfly, 200 m individual medley, and the 800 m freestyle relay at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, and at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. The men's 100 metre backstroke S7 event at the 2012 Paralympic Games took place on 30 August, at the London Aquatics Centre in the Olympic Park, London. The event was for athletes included in the S7 classification, which is for competitors with physical impairments. Sixteen swimmers took part, representing a total of eleven different nations. Great Britain's Jonathan Fox set a new world record in the heats and went on to win the gold medal.
Jessica-Jane Applegate MBE is a British Paralympic swimmer. Applegate competes in the S14 classification for swimmers with intellectual disabilities, mainly freestyle and backstroke preferring shorter distances. She qualified for the 2012 Summer Paralympics and on 2 September, Applegate won the gold setting a Paralympic record in the S14 200m freestyle.
Lin Man-hsu is a Taiwanese swimmer, who specialized in backstroke and individual medley events. She represented the Chinese Taipei national team in two editions of the Olympic Games.
Sergey Pankov is an Uzbek swimmer, who specialized in backstroke and butterfly events. He won a bronze medal in the 200 m backstroke at the 2006 Asian Swimming Championships in Singapore, and had achieved an eighth-place finish in the same discipline at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.
Kylie Jacqueline Masse is a Canadian competitive swimmer. A noted backstroke specialist, she is a five-time Olympic medallist, three-time World Aquatics champion, three-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist, and the 2018 Pan Pacific champion in the 100 metre backstroke. She is currently the captain for the Toronto Titans of the International Swimming League.
Corey Charles Garth Main is a New Zealand swimmer who qualified to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the men's 100 metre backstroke.

Kaylee Rochelle McKeown is an Australian swimmer and quintuple Olympic gold medalist. She is the reigning Olympic champion in the 100 and 200 metres backstroke. She is the world record holder in the long course 50 metre backstroke and both the long course and short course 200 metre backstroke. She won gold in both the 100 metre and 200 metre backstroke at both the 2020 and 2024 Olympics. In 2023, she was named as the "Best Female Swimmer of the Year" by World Aquatics, after sweeping gold in all three events of backstroke at all three World Cup legs, held in Berlin, Athens and Budapest in October, 2023.

Rhyan Elizabeth White is an American swimmer. She won a silver medal in the 4x100-meter medley relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics for her contribution in the prelims of the event and placed fourth in both the 100-meter backstroke and the 200-meter backstroke. At the 2020 Olympics, White also became the first Utah-born swimmer to compete in an Olympic Games. At the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, she was the only swimmer representing the United States to win a medal. She won her first world title in the 200-meter backstroke at the 2021 World Short Course Championships.
