Ameer Gilani is a Pakistani actor and singer who is best known for his portrayal of Hassan Fareed in Hum TV's Sabaat (2020), for which he received a nomination for Best Emerging Talent at the 20th Lux Style Awards.

Early life and education

His paternal grandfather Syed Iftikhar Hussain Gillani is a lawyer who served as the country's law minister under Benazir Bhutto in 1989–1990. [3] Musarrat Nazir, a famed singer and actress active from the 1950s to the 1980s, is Iftikhar's sister-in-law. [4]

In 2022, Ameer graduated with a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the Harvard Law School in the United States. [5]

Career

Actor

Ameer portrayed the role of an upper class university student in Shahzad Kashmiri's Sabaat opposite Mawra Hocane. [6] The series aired on Hum TV in 2020 and he was nominated at 20th Lux Style Awards for his performance in the category of Best Emerging Talent in TV. [7] In 2021, he appeared in a Defence Day's special music video by Atif Aslam. [8] In 2023, he paired again with Hocane in Shahzad Kashmiri's Neem . [9]

Singer

In 2020, he released the song Sabaat, titled after his drama, on his YouTube channel, with the music produced by Sarmad Ghafoor and the music video directed by Usman Mukhtar. [10]

Personal life

Gilani met actresss Mawra Hocane on the sets of Sabaat in 2020, and the couple eventually began dating. On 5 February 2025, Gilani married Hocane in a traditional Muslim wedding in Lahore. [11] [12]

Sabaat is a 2020 Pakistani television series produced by Momina Duraid under MD Productions. It stars Mawra Hocane, Ameer Gilani, Sarah Khan and Usman Mukhtar in lead roles. Sabaat revolves around two ambitious individuals who belong to different classes, fall for each other and face hurdles. It premiered on 29 March 2020 on Hum TV. Sabaat aired weekly on Sundays. The series received high viewership ratings and was critically acclaimed. At the 20th Lux Style Awards, the series received five nominations.

Neem is a Pakistani television series directed by Shahzad Kashmiri and produced by Momina Duraid under the banner of MD Productions. It stars Mawra Hocane, Syed Jibran, Arslan Naseer and Ameer Gilani. The series is set in Lahore, New York and Kashmir. It premiered on Hum TV on 5 June 2023. The plot revolves around a dedicated university graduate Zimal who destines to work for children's education and also copes with her personal problems, a ruthless entitled son of a tribal leader Karamat Khan, and an unemployed lower class guy Ashhad who is in one-sided love with Zimal. It concluded on 6 November 2023 after 23 episodes.
