Background and synopsis

During the 117th annual Boston Marathon celebration on April 15, 2013, [5] [6] [7] [8] a tragic terrorist bombing took place in the middle of the race. [2] [3] [1] Three days after the massacre, the Federal Bureau of Investigation released the identity of two suspects responsible for the explosion: Brothers Tamerlan [9] and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. After the release of American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing, the series received mixed reviews. On the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 89%, based on 9 reviews. [13]

Author Joel Keller of Decider called the series a "skip it" and "doesn’t tread a lot of new ground". [14] Similarly, Kevin Slane from Boston.com praised the crew's effort in the making of the docuseries and added that "there is nothing wrong with skipping it." [15]
