Amit Kshatriya is the Associate Administrator of NASA, the agency's highest-ranking civil servant position. He was previously deputy associate administrator for the Moon to Mars Program Office, [1] and prior to that he worked on the Space Launch System, Orion, and Exploration Ground Systems aspects of the Artemis program. From 2014 to 2017 he was an International Space Station flight director, and was the lead flight director of Expedition 50, for which he received the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal. He was also lead robotics officer for the SpaceX Dragon demonstration mission for the Commercial Orbital Transportation Services program. [2]

Acting NASA Administrator Sean Duffy announced the selection of Kshatriya as Associate Administrator in a statement on September 3, 2025.

Education

Kshatriya has a bachelor of science in mathematics from Caltech and a master of arts in mathematics from UT Austin. [3]

Personal life

Kshatriya was born in Brookfield, Wisconsin, the son of Indian immigrants to the United States. He now considers Katy, Texas to be his hometown. He and his wife have three children.
