Amsterdamese Police and Firefighting Party (in Dutch: Amsterdamsche Politie- en Brandweerpartij) was a political party in the Netherlands. The party contested the 1918 parliamentary election in the constituencies of Amsterdam and Arnhem with a one-man list consisting of Renze van der Meulen. Demands of the party included an abolition of the hunting law, an introduction of a law for civil servants, and a ban on food exports until 1919.
The party obtained just 417 votes (0.03%). It got 0.34% in Arnhem and 0.14% in Amsterdam. [1]
Van der Meulen would later launch the National Party for Pension Interests (Landelijke Partij voorPensioenbelangen). [2]
Schagen is a city and municipality in the northwestern Netherlands. It is located between Alkmaar and Den Helder, in the region of West Friesland and the province of North Holland. It received city rights in 1415. In 2013, Schagen merged with Zijpe and Harenkarspel. Together they have formed a new municipality, which is also called Schagen. The townhall is located in the main town of Schagen.

De Vloek was a squatted, self-managed social centre in The Hague, the Netherlands, between 2002 and 2015. Located on Hellingweg 127 in Scheveningen, beside the North Sea, the squat hosted workplaces, living spaces, a venue, and a vegan restaurant. The local council tolerated the occupation until 2014, when it decided to sell the building. A political struggle over the eviction began; some political parties supported the squatters and the Scheveningen Pier was briefly occupied as a protest action. A deal was made for the squatters to move to a former school building and the Vloek was eventually evicted in September 2015.
The Political Party for Basic Income, formerly known as the Basic Income Party and De Basis, is a minor political party in the Netherlands, which advocates for the implementation of a universal basic income. The party registered with the electoral council on 9 December 2013.

The 2021 Dutch curfew riots were a series of riots in the Netherlands that initiated as protests against the government's COVID-19 prevention measures and specifically the 21:00–4:30 curfew that was introduced on 23 January 2021. The police have described the riots as the worst in the country since the 1980 coronation riots.

Rudolf "Ruud" Verkuijlen is a Dutch police commissioner, civil servant, and politician. A member of the conservative liberal People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), he was appointed to the House of Representatives in September 2021 after having participated in the 2021 general election. He previously worked for the National Police and served on the Hilversum municipal council in the years 2014–21.
Peter Dick Nicolaï is a Dutch lawyer and politician of the Party for the Animals. He has served as a member of the Senate since 11 June 2019.
The Amsterdamsche Stoom Suikerraffinaderij was a big Dutch sugar refining company. It produced white sugar by refining raw sugar from sugar cane. The company existed from 1833 to 1875 and was one of the most important industrial companies of Amsterdam.
