Jennifer Lee Brunner is an American attorney,politician and judge. She is currently an associate justice of the Ohio Supreme Court,a position to which she was elected after serving as a judge on Ohio's Tenth District Court of Appeals. On June 8,2021,Brunner announced her candidacy for Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court in the November 8,2022,general election. Brunner is a member of the Democratic Party who served as the Ohio Secretary of State;Brunner was the first woman to serve in this capacity. She took office after sixteen years of Republican control,which included two four-year terms by her predecessor J. Kenneth Blackwell,who oversaw the 2000 and 2004 United States elections. Brunner served only a single term as Secretary of State. When it came time for re-election in 2010,she instead made an unsuccessful bid for the U.S. Senate. Prior to being elected Secretary of State,Brunner worked in the Ohio Secretary of State's Office and served as a County Judge in Franklin County,Ohio. She also owned her own private practice;during her private practice career,she focused on election law and campaign finance law. She represented a broad range of candidates,businesses,political parties and committees before the Ohio Elections Commission on quasi-criminal matters.

He was elected as speaker on July 30,2020,replacing Larry Householder who was removed from the position following his arrest on federal bribery charges.
Caylee Marie Anthony was an American girl who lived in Orlando,Florida,with her mother,Casey Marie Anthony,and her maternal grandparents,George and Cindy Anthony. On July 15,2008,she was reported missing in a 9-1-1 call made by Cindy,who said she had not seen Caylee for 31 days and that Casey's car smelled like a dead body had been inside it. Cindy said Casey had given varied explanations as to Caylee's whereabouts before finally telling her that she had not seen Caylee for weeks. Casey lied to detectives,telling them Caylee had been kidnapped by a nanny on June 9,and that she had been trying to find her,too frightened to alert the authorities. She was charged with first-degree murder in October 2008 and pled not guilty.
Dan Aaron Polster is a Senior United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Polster mediated a settlement between the city of Cleveland and the family of Tamir Rice,a 12-year-old black boy who was killed by a white police officer in 2014. In December 2017,a federal judicial panel selected Polster to preside over more than 3,000 consolidated prescription opioid-related lawsuits in multidistrict litigation known as the National Prescription Opiate Litigation. A trial for the litigation began in October 2021.

The murder of Reagan Tokes occurred on the night of February 8,2017,in the Scioto Grove Metro Park in Grove City,Ohio. Tokes,a twenty-one-year-old student at Ohio State University,was abducted while leaving her job in Columbus’s downtown by Brian Golsby. Golsby robbed and raped Tokes,and forced her to drive to the Scioto Grove Metro Park. There,he forced her to strip naked and marched her into a field where he shot her twice in the head just shortly before midnight. Her body was found the following morning.
Eric Joering and Anthony "Tony" Morelli were police officers who were murdered on February 10,2018,in Westerville,Ohio after responding to a domestic violence incident. Joering,39,and Morelli,54,were shot and killed by Quentin Smith,who had punched and choked his wife,leading to her making a 9-1-1 hangup call. When the police officers arrived,Smith shot Joering three times in both of his arms and in his head. Morelli was shot once in the chest with the bullet going through his heart and lungs.

William Scott Husel is an American intensive/critical care physician who was charged with 14 counts of murder relating to the deaths of multiple patients from his care of terminally ill patients at Mount Carmel West and St. Ann's Hospitals in Columbus,Ohio. The prosecution in this case argued that Dr. Husel hastened the death of terminally ill patients. He turned himself in on June 5,2019. After an extensive trial,Husel was found not guilty on all counts on April 20,2022.
