Anaerocella delicata is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, anaerobic and non-motile bacterium from the genus of Anaerocella which has been isolated from a methanogenic reactor of cattle waste in Hokkaido in Japan. [1] [3] [4]
Methanothrix soehngenii is a species of methanogenic archaea. Its cells are non-motile, non-spore-forming, rod-shaped and are normally combined end to end in long filaments, surrounded by a sheath-like structure. It is named in honour of N. L. Söhngen.

It has been found to use methanol and methyl amines as substrates in the production of methane. It cannot use formiate, carbon dioxide with hydrogen, acetate, dimethyl sulfide, methanethiol, or propanol. As its name suggests, it is a thermophile, with an optimal growth temperature of 50 °C.
