Ananta Bhalobasha [lower-alpha 1] is a 1999 Bangladeshi romantic action film. [3] The film directed and screenplay by Sohanur Rahman Sohan and Produced by Kuddusur Rahman under the banner of SP Production. The story and dialogues of the film are written by Abu Saeed Khan and Henry Amin respectively. The film stars Shakib Khan and Erin Zaman played the lead roles in the film. It also feature Abul Hayat, Wasimul Bari Rajib, Dolly Johur and Misha Sawdagor also played various important roles. [4] The film mark as the on-screen debut Shakib Khan and Erin Zaman. [5] [6]

"Mr. Aziz Reza gave me find out of Shakib Khan. At first he gave me still pictures. He was very much requesting to chance Shakib (Khan). I wanted to see the boy face to face in his requests. Mr. Aziz brought him to our office. We liked him at first sight. Shakib deserved to be a hero. I give chance him to the movies because I saw something like that in him. Someone may have requested to take him or I gave him the opportunity. But the fact is that he was worthy.”

Casting

The film protagonist Shakib Khan's on-camera debut 1998 romantic drama film Sobaito Shuki Hote Chay directed by Aftab Khan Tulu, which was delayed being release. Although the film later released in the following year. At that time, director Sohanur Rahman Sohan was looking for a new hero due to a dispute with actor Shakil Khan. [8] [9] In two deferent interviews with Kaler Kantho and Chiti one of Khan's mentor Aziz Reza, who is the renowned choreographer, said that, he very much requested Sohanur Rahman Sohan to give a chance Shakib Khan in his film. Sohan agreed to his request and asked to bring Khan to their office. [10] Sohan then gave him a chance as a lead actor for the film. Shakib Khan was paid-up only 5,000 for the film. [11] [12]

Shakib Khan said about acting in the film,

"When I started my film career, I was immature, but visionary. I didn't know where I was going or what I was going to do. I didn't know where I was going or what I was going to do. All I knew was that I had to work hard. Never give up. Today, when I look back, I'm grateful for all the people and experiences."

It took a place on the list of the 15 best films made in 1999 and returned the invested capital. [19]

Legacy

Through the film, director Sohanur Rahman Sohan changed the birth name of the protagonist Shakib Khan from Masud Rana to his stage name "Shakib Khan". [20] After the news of Sohanur Rahman Sohan's death in 2023, Shakib Khan also said in an interview with The Daily Star that his stage name "Shakib Khan" was given by Sohan. [21]

Shakib Khan's debut with the film is regarded as a turning point for Bangladeshi cinema. [22]

Misha Sawdagor stars as Victor, a gangster trying to steal the password. Shabnom Bubly features as Rudra's love interest, Dr. Shabnom. Sohanur Rahman Sohan was a Bangladeshi film director and screenwriter. He started his film career as an assistant of director Shibli Sadik. His first film was Biswas Abiswas (1988). He was best known in Dhallywood for directing romantic films. He launched Salman Shah and Moushumi with the film Keyamat Theke Keyamat in 1993 and Shakib Khan with the film Ananta Bhalobasha in 1999. Other notable films directed by him are Amar Jaan Amar Pran (2008), Poran Jai Jolia Re (2010), Se Amar Mon Kereche (2012) etc. He served as the principal of the Universal Performing Arts Institute.

Antaratma is an upcoming Bangladeshi romantic family drama film. The film directed by Wajed Ali Sumon and produced by Sohani Hossain under the banner of her own Taranga Entertainment. It feature Shakib Khan and Darshana Banik in the lead roles. The film marked as the second collaboration between Sohani Hossain and Shakib Khan after the huge success of Swatta (2017) and the second collaboration between Shahed Sharif Khan and Shakib Khan after the 2004 film Hridoy Shudhu Tomar Jonno.

The film stars Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan, Dilara Hanif Purnima, Rumana Khan, ATM Shamsuzzaman and Misha Sawdagor. It was a commercial success at the box office and became a superhit.

Amar Shopno Tumi is 2005 Bangladeshi romantic comedy film directed by Hasibul Islam Mizan and produced by Mahmood Haque Shamim under the banner of S.N.N Pictures. The films story and dialogue by Zaman Akhter with screenplay by director himself. It features Shakib Khan, Shabnur and Ferdous Ahmed in the lead roles with ATM Shamsuzzaman, Abul Hayat, Sharmili Ahmed, Rehana Jolly supporting cast.
